Lucky 15 Tips: One Look worth noting at the Curragh

Day two of the Irish Oaks Festival from the Curragh is the headline act on Sunday's racing offering, with the Kildare venue set to be joined by Redcar as well as jumps cards at Newton Abbot and Stratford on Sunday afternoon.

It's a busy conclusion to the weekend and below are my Lucky 15 tips for Sunday's racing in Britain and Ireland.

14:30 Curragh – One Look @ 4/1

It isn't hard to plead forgiveness for ONE LOOK after the Gleneagles filly was sixth of seven in the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot last month.

She travelled wider than ideal and paid for that in a small field as Crimson Advocate scored for John & Thady Gosden in the Wathnan Racing silks, leaving Cinderella's Dream in second.

Charlie Appleby's charge had her revenge when winning the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket this month, with Crimson Advocate in third, and that Ascot race was much stronger than the Group 3 Al Shira'aa Racing Meadow Court Stakes that One Look contests now for Paddy Twomey and Billy Lee back at the Curragh.

She won in this grade over C&D in April and was second to the high-class Porta Fortuna in May. Stepping up in trip will do no harm to her cause and she looks the class act in this field.

15:05 Curragh – Lady In Paris @ 9/2

Jessica Harrington and Shane Foley can get on the Curragh scoresheet with LADY IN PARIS as the Blue Point filly tackles a mile-and-a-quarter in the three-year-old handicap.

A winner at Leopardstown (1m1f, good) early last month, Lady In Paris has since finished third here over that same distance at the Irish Derby meeting.

She was behind an impressive handicap debutant from Dermot Weld's team in Sujet and the Aidan O'Brien-trained Mississippi River that day, with the runner-up running well since in a much stronger event at Leopardstown from 3lb higher.

This promising filly turns out from 1lb lower in the ratings now, with an extra furlong to suit, and appears to have plenty going for her in this field.

15:13 Stratford – Arclight @ 5/1

The mare ARCLIGHT is noted in this Class 2 Skip Hire Flyer Handicap Chase over 2m1f for Nicky Henderson and James Bowen.

She runs into recent C&D winner Finest View from the Alan King team but the Seven Barrows inmate ran respectably in a match at Newton Abbot recently over hurdles and should be primed for this return to chasing.

She won her first three starts in this sphere in late 2023 before coming a cropper in quality races at Kempton (Grade 2) and Cheltenham either side of her summer recess in 2024.

She's had three spins over timber recently and returns to chasing operating off a potentially handy mark dropped in trip.

16:35 Redcar - Breizh Sea @ 16/1

Katie Scott would have been thrilled to see BREIZH SEA running third in a novice heat on the Tapeta at Newcastle during their Northumberland Plate meeting last month.

That was just a third start for the Le Brivido filly and she defied an SP of 250/1 to run a big race despite almost blowing the start.

She raced in last under William Pyle and ran on nicely under pressure to take third behind the market principals, who were always nicely placed.

On that evidence, an opening mark of 62 could be really lenient and this 7f apprentice handicap might not take a lot of winning.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
