Lucky 15 Tips: Four value picks to kick off the week

After a cracking weekend of racing that included the Ayr Gold Cup, the busy period continues with no fewer than six meetings in GB and Ireland this Monday.

The Flat action comes from Wolverhampton, Leicester, Hamilton, Fairyhouse and Listowel while there is also a jumps card from Fontwell. Check out our Lucky 15 tips for Monday's action below.

14:10 Leicester - Shark Two One @ 11/4

Jack Dace has made a bright start to his career and there’s a chance that he could be the difference on board Shark Two One, who has been knocking on the door again in recent starts.

This dual course and distance winner is back on a good mark and was backed like defeat was out of the question when hitting the frame at Chepstow last time when not seen to best effect, but he may be capable of gaining compensation back at his favourite venue.

15:12 Listowel - Presence @ 3/1

After catching the eye with a big run on the Flat at Punchestown last time out, Presence looks worth chancing back down at her preferred trip.

She had plenty to do from rear at Punchestown but stuck on really gamely and the return to slower conditions on Monday could be the key to success for her.

The filly paid the price for a close up Listed fourth when getting a harsh 9lb rise at the end of last season but she finds herself back on a workable rating now and came good at this time last year with a string of placed efforts before getting her head back in front at the Curragh.

Stall 10 wouldn’t normally be a positive in a 10-runner field at this track but there’s a host of regular prominent racers in opposition and she would be slotting in behind even if she had a low draw, so she’s unlikely to lose much, if any, ground. With Jessica Harrington’s yard back amongst the winners, this filly looks worth chancing.

16:20 Listowel - Taipan @ 7/1

The feature race of the day at Listowel is the middle distance Premier Handicap and it could be a good day for Jessica Harrington who also saddles Taipan on day two.

Unlike the aforementioned contest, there’s a lack of pace here and front runners can get away at Listowel, so it could be a good opportunity for the son of Frankel to make all the running.

This seven-year-old proved he was right back to his best at the Galway Festival last time out and the slower ground this time should help bring his stamina into play, dropping back in distance.

The handicapper appears to have underestimated that effort, only putting him up 4lb and a repeat of the Galway run could be good enough in this field.

17:15 Hamilton - Kode Secret @ 6/5

Hamilton’s finale is unlikely to take much winning and it looks like a good opportunity for Kode Secret to gain a third career success.

He bounced back to form when third last time out in a race that has already produced a subsequent winner and without any competition for the lead in this field, expect him to be hard to catch.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
