Lucky 15 Tips: Four to consider on Monday

Racing fans have a busy Monday on their hands, courtesy of six meetings across Britain and Ireland.

I've studied the various cards and picked out some Lucky 15 tips - including a Dan Skelton-trained hurdling debutant that ought to go very close.

13:40 Market Rasen - Queensworthy @ 5/2

QUEENSWORTHY was second in an Irish point for Denis Murphy at Lingstown back in November and subsequently joined the Skelton yard. She made her rules debut in a Southwell bumper earlier this month, where she made a very good impression.

Midfield in the early stages, she made smooth progress approaching the three-furlong pole and was well on top at the finish, eventually going on to score by just shy of three lengths. Clearly she’s going to stay well over hurdles, so the extra two-and-a-bit furlongs will suit.

This looks like a very winnable maiden and a very good place for her to start over hurdles. The yard hasn’t been firing as it usually does at this time of year but they haven’t been out of the winners so there’s nothing to worry about on that front.

15:25 Market Rasen - High Fibre @ 3/1

Harry Fry isn’t one to waste ammunition and he runs the smart dual-purpose performer HIGH FIBRE in the Class 2 feature race on the card. Rated 79 on the Flat, he managed to get off the mark with a very cosy victory in a Worcester maiden hurdle earlier this month.

There was never any doubt about him winning that race and he pulled five-and-a-half lengths clear with little difficulty. This is his first start in handicap company and a mark of 113 looks very reasonable, so he’s entitled to go close here provided the step up in trip suits.

19:15 Windsor - Rajaking @ 4/1

Stuart Williams’ RAJAKING seems to save a little bit for himself, which makes it hard to know how much he has in hand. The three-year-old remains unbeaten after two starts however and now tries handicaps off a mark of 86.

His debut success came at Chelmsford back in October and he did well to win that day after an awkward start.

Rajaking gamely held off Ralph Beckett’s Topwarrior under a penalty over course and distance next time and it seems likely that there’s plenty more to come from him.

19:45 Windsor - Westridge @ 6/4

This is an intriguing 1m2f handicap and whilst most of the field is pretty exposed at this point, the John & Thady Gosden-trained WESTRIDGE is the one runner that doesn’t fit that description. He has only had seven starts so far and the best is almost certainly yet to come.

Plenty went wrong when he won a novice here over a mile in June but he still managed to get the better of his now 104-rated stablemate Roi De France.

That form suggests he should be winning races off 85 and his narrow second at Kempton recently indicates that he’s ready to get off the mark in handicap company.

The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £235 for your total £7.50 stake.
