Lucky 15 Tips: Plenty of love for the Cheveley Park mare at Haydock

It's Day 2 of Betfred's Temple Stakes meeting - more fantastic racing from Haydock Park including the famous Cecil Frail Listed sprint, for Fillies and Mares. Seven races, with the action kicking in at 13:50. Terrific winner yesterday - our headline horse Organ, brilliantly ridden by Dave Probert. Pity we couldn't find anything to go with it, but there's always the 'double the odds' factor to soften the blow.

14:25 - Fitzella @ 1/2

First up for our Lucky 15 is a two-year-old from a very potent yard when it comes to plundering prizes here - that of Hugo Palmer, based at Michael Owen's Manor House Stables in Malpas, Cheshire.

Fitzella is a maiden filly by Too Darn Hot out of an Exceed And Excel mare. One run to date - an absolute corker in a £12k Ascot novice, going down by just a neck to an Appleby hot-pot, Military Code, that had won first time up at Newmarket too.

She looks like a winner waiting to happen to me and if we can get odds-against I'll be doing the odd cartwheel (I wish).

15:00 - Unequal Love @ 6/4

The race conditions of this Listed contest nicely favour William Haggas' five-year-old Dutch Art mare Unequal Love.

She's Group 1-placed and really should be taking this if cherry-ripe after her seasonal reappearance at HQ nearly three weeks ago. She has 4lb and more in hand on official figures, and very handily has won here before.

Six career wins in 14 starts is further testament to her ability, and jockey Tom Marquand knows her well. Terrific chance.

16:10 - Tsuki @ 4/9

We're visiting Somerville Lodge Stables again for another Haggas inmate - one with a very bright-looking future.

His three-year-old Kameko filly Tsuki is one-from-one so far - a cosy Goodwood maiden success in the first few days of this month, for which she's penalised 7lb.

The third that day Fantasmic has subsequently scored in a Lingfield maiden and our selection looked far from the finished article on the Downs, running green on that highly-challenging layout, especially understandable when it's her proverbial first day at school.

She'll benefit greatly from the experience and once again goes a mile. Her sire took the 2000 Guineas at the trip and her dam is by the great Sea The Stars - bred in the purple and then some.

17:17 - Antelope @ 9/4

The Richard Hannon stable is in very decent fettle right now (23% strike-rate in the last fortnight), and there are grounds for optimism concerning Antelope potentially improving upon that statistic in Friday's lucky last.

The three-year-old Lope De Vega gelding has yet to score in nine attempts, but most encouragingly his last spin 22 days ago at Yarmouth was up there with anything he's produced in the past.

Tackling 10f for the first time seemed perfect as he got involved late, staying-on nicely for third, beaten just 1.25l. The excellent 3lb stable claimer Alec Voikhansky was on board on that occasion, but the hugely-experienced Sean Levey takes over this afternoon.

The assessor rather naughtily raised him a pound for last time but that's a deserved compliment, and having shown such promise at the trip his chance for me is undeniable.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!

The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £45 for your total £7.50 stake. A couple of Skinny Minnies today - I don't like tipping up odds-on chances but if they all managed to prevail we'd be showing a nice profit.
