Leicester Tips: Three to watch on Sunday

There are just four race meetings taking place across the UK and Ireland on Sunday and I like the look of the action taking place at Leicester, with a seven-race card scheduled.

Below you will find my Leicester Tips for Sunday, August 10.

14:30 Leicester - Naughty Niall @ 7/2

There is a stacked field of 12 runners declared for this Class 6 handicap over 1m 2f on Sunday and there are few heading here with strong claims, but none more so than NAUGHTY NIALL for Ian Williams' yard.

After a troublesome start to the season, the four-year-old son of Oasis Dream's form turned a corner when he ran a promising third of 10 over C&D here in July. Further improvement was shown in his following run at Yarmouth over the same distance, finishing second before triumphing at the same track on July 28.

Colin Keane is booked for this ride and Naughty Niall will be wearing cheekpieces for the first time, while there is a 3lb rise to consider. Further progress could be in store for him here and I have a good feeling about his chances.

15:30 Leicester - Twilight Moon @ 5/4

TWILIGHT MOON got off the mark at the 10th attempt on her last outing at Salisbury over 1m 4f, the same distance she will cover in this Class 5 handicap on Sunday. There are five rivals for her to deal with at Leicester but considering she has placed in her past four appearances, she heads here with stronger claims than the rest of the field.

Trainer Marcus Tregoning will be pleased with her progress and it feels like she has much more to offer off a 4lb higher mark. I am expecting another strong performance from this filly and a second consecutive victory may be on the cards.

16:30 Leicester - Hilltop @ 9/4

I round off my selections in this Class 5 handicap over 1m and it is an entry from Daniel and Claire Kubler in the form of HILLTOP. The four-year-old got off the mark at the eighth attempt at Lingfield on his last showing over 7f but steps up to 1m here which she has struggled with in the past.

Her victory at Lingfield was preceded by a respectable second at Chelmsford and the signs of her progress may help in her return to this distance. Joe Leavy steered her to success at Lingfield and this relationship will continue on Sunday. It will be interesting to see how she copes back over a mile but her form suggests she will be a strong contender.
