Kempton Park Tips: Follow the Rivers on Wednesday

There are five UK and Irish race meetings taking place on Wednesday and there is a seven-race card taking place at Kempton Park which I like the look of.
Check out my Kempton Park Tips for Wednesday, July 9.

17:50 Kempton Park - Beach Point @ 2/1
This Class 5 apprentice handicap kickstarts the day's action and 12 runners have been declared for this 1m 2f trip. There are few attractive options when looking for a punt but it is BEACH POINT who I like the look of.
This four-year-old gelding has been having an impressive season with six second-place finishes in his last seven starts, including a strong run behind strong favourite Bobacious at Leicester on his last outing.
Beach Point is well-travelled over this distance and his frequent placings in such trips suggest he should be there or thereabouts upon his return to Kempton. His last performance here saw him finish runner-up in a 1m 3f race back in September.
The going was standard to slow that day, which look to be the conditions for tomorrow, and it may just play into his hands. Trainer William Knight and connections should be fairly confident about his chances on Wednesday.

19:20 Kempton Park - Star Legend @ 9/2
James Owen-trained STAR LEGEND experience three-straight flat wins on the bounce between May and June, and he will be looking to return to that vein of form on his first trip to Kempton in just shy of three years.
This Class 4 handicap over 1m 7f distance will once again put him to the test but he has proven his worth over trips surpassing two miles, so he should have no issues here.
His last two runs have been over hurdles, posting respectable third-place finishes at Worcester and Stratford.
The six-year-old arrives at TW16 2lbs higher than his victory at Lingfield but he is expected to be a strong contender once again at a point where he appears to be hitting his stride.
Mason Paetal is booked for this ride, and the pair combined for victory at Chelmsford, which started the winning streak.

19:55 Kempton Park - I Follow Rivers @ 5/2
A stacked field of 14 runners are set to contest this Class 6 handicap over 1m and I FOLLOW RIVERS has all the credentials to take the glory. The three-year-old has enjoyed a successful transition into handicaps with a form guide of - 31122 - with the latest second-place finish being a close call at Wolverhampton on June 23.
Trainer Richard Spencer should be pleased with what he has seen from the gelding since stepping up in trip and he may feel that a return to Kempton, where he triumphed in a 7f race back in May, can get him back on the winning trail.
I Follow Rivers heads here 1lb heavier but being back on the Polytrack might just give him the room to make more progress. The vastly-experienced and serial winner Oisin Murphy is booked to ride him, which only strengthens his chances for success.
