Horse Racing Tips: Sky Majesty is the one to side with at Naas

There’s plenty happening on Wednesday, with six meetings taking place across Britain and Ireland and there is Listed action on the agenda.
Wexford kicks us off in the afternoon, before Catterick and Salisbury continue the action and Naas, Doncaster and Leicester provide the evening entertainment. We have three strong fancies to follow on Wednesday and they include a William Haggas-trained British raider in Naas’ feature race.

15:00 Catterick - Magic Box @ 13/8
William Haggas has a 50 per cent strike-rate at Catterick in the last five years and he’s yet to have a runner there so far this season. That’s set to change however as he sends MAGIC BOX up from his Newmarket base.
She showed signs of improvement when finishing third in a Chepstow maiden last month and managed to get off the mark upon switching to handicaps at Kempton next time. Clearly the step up to 7f helped as she saw the trip out well to score by half-a-length.
The daughter of Showcasing didn’t quite have the pace to challenge the winner when runner-up over a furlong shorter last time out and the return to 7f is a big plus. It’s unlikely that we’ve seen the best of her just yet and there should be more to come.
Haggas has been in good form in the last fortnight, as is Cieren Fallon, who is set to take the ride. That’s certainly a combination that bodes well for her chances and it’ll be a surprise if she’s not there or thereabouts.

16:30 Catterick - Bosphorus Rose @ 4/5
Progressive middle-distance handicappers are Sir Mark Prescott’s specialty and he sends the lightly raced BOSPHORUS ROSE up to Catterick on Wednesday.
She showed plenty in three starts in novice and maiden company in the autumn, placing third on each occasion.
Starting the year by getting off the mark, she won a Bath novice comfortably, albeit on very different ground. It was firm there and she needs to prove that soft ground won’t be an issue for her here.
Prescott’s three-year-old could only manage third on handicap debut over 1m2f at Ripon but made no mistake when upped to 1m4f at Epsom earlier this month. The handicapper has responded with a 3lb rise, which should be manageable, and further progress is anticipated.

18:40 Naas - Sky Majesty @ 2/1
SKY MAJESTY looked like a very smart horse in the making when winning all three starts as a juvenile.
William Haggas trains this British raider and he has two winners from just six career runners at the track. It’s eye-catching that he’s sending her over and you can guarantee she’s there to win.
Ease in the ground won’t be a problem for this filly, as she won a 6f Group 2 on heavy ground last season. She beat a very useful yardstick that day and managed to pull a length-and-a-quarter clear of the runner-up.
Haggas’ filly wasn’t disgraced when finishing eighth in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot last time out and the significant drop in grade provides an excellent opportunity.
Tom Marquand also heads over to take the ride and she’s unlikely to be far away.
