Horse Racing Tips: Silver can strike gold at Lingfield

Flat racing continues to dominate the schedule and there are five meetings taking place across Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, which gives us plenty to ponder.
I've got three horse racing tips to follow across the day, including a James Owen-trained runner at Lingfield that should be well suited by a drop back in trip.
Horse Racing Tips - Wednesday, June 11
- 15:00 Lingfield - Sportingsilvermine @ 11/8

15:00 Lingfield - Sportingsilvermine @ 11/8
James Owen is a very shrewd operator across both codes and is operating at a very healthy strike-rate of 23 per cent in the last 14 days. His 48 runners have yielded 11 winners and perhaps SPORTINGSILVERMINE can add to that tally on Wednesday.
He was an 18-race maiden in Ireland but produced several decent performances and came very close to getting off the mark at Cork and Tipperary last year. Joining Owen this season, his four starts for current connections have been much better.
The son of Holy Roman Emperor was a narrow winner over 1m3f at Southwell on stable debut so it didn’t take long for Owen to work his magic. Following up with a comfortable success in Class 4 company at Musselburgh, a 2lb rise wasn’t enough to stop him.
He produced another good performance to finish second at Chester in May and this race looks a little easier. Owen’s four-year-old was outstayed when trying 1m6f at Newmarket when last seen and will appreciate the drop in trip here.

16:15 Yarmouth - One For Harvey @ 9/4
The lightly-raced ONE FOR HARVEY could have more to give in handicap company, after getting off the mark at Nottingham last time out and clearly the return to 5f was a big plus. The handicapper has responded with a 5lb rise and that might not be enough to stop her.
Patient tactics were employed at Nottingham and she was held up in the rear early on. She began to make her way through the field after the halfway point before pressing the leader in the final furlong, eventually going on to win going away.
There were signs that she was ready to get off the mark when a close second under Frederick Larson at Chelmsford a few starts. Her below-par display at Kempton was easy to forgive and perhaps there is more to come from this filly over the minimum trip.

19:40 Kempton - Persian Spirit @ 10/3
Kempton’s feature race is a competitive 6f handicap and Richard Hannon’s very lightly-raced filly PERSIAN SPIRIT gets the nod. She has only had four starts thus far and already has two wins to her name, including a course and distance success on handicap debut.
The daughter of Invincible Spirit made all the running that day, despite being pestered throughout, and showed a very good attitude to score by a neck. She was too keen when fourth at Haydock recently and clearly still has some growing up to do.
There could be loads of improvement still to come, especially in handicap company, and a return to winning ways may be on the agenda.
