Horse Racing Tips: Miss Cartesian maps out Newbury success

A busy Tuesday is forthcoming with four cards in Britain and Ireland, and there are plenty of interesting races.
The Flat turf action at Newbury is where I have concentrated our attention, and I've found three wagers at the Berkshire track, including an unbeaten course-and-distance winner. Below are my Horse Racing Tips for Tuesday, August 5.

18:05 Newbury - Miss Cartesian @ 6/5
Miss Cartesian looks interesting on her handicap debut for the in-form Ralph Beckett in the 7f fillies’ contest at Newbury.
The daughter of Kodiac is bred to be a cut above her opening mark of 85 as she comes from the family of two Classic-winning milers in Mawj and Modern Games.
She has made an encouraging enough start to her career, defying an in-running high of 14-1 to land short odds in a 6f novice on her debut when showing distinct signs of greenness.
The selection then came unstuck over that trip behind a useful rival at Yarmouth before bagging another success over an extra furlong at Newmarket.
The longer yardage seemed to really help her, and she brings a good level of potential to handicaps against opponents who are largely out of form.
There is more to come from her over this distance, and she can defy top weight.

20:15 Newbury - Saratoga Gold @ 4/1
Saratoga Gold is another taking a drop in grade to make plenty of appeal in the final race at Newbury on Tuesday.
This horse may be 0-13 for Kevin Frost, but the trainer has a good record with his visits to Newbury, and this is the weakest race he has contested for a few years.
He won both races over this course and distance for former connections and hinted at a revival when a good second in a higher grade at York two starts back.
Frost is 1-4 when applying a first-time visor to his horses over the past year, and Saratoga Gold obliged when fitted with blinkers for the first time, so it’s easy to imagine the headgear prompting a resurgence.
He is Jack Mitchell’s only ride on the card and is expected to send the jockey home happy.
