Horse Racing Tips: Thunder all the Rage at Brighton

Flat racing holds sway across Britain and Ireland on Tuesday with six meetings taking place across the afternoon and into the evening.
Among our horse racing tips for the day is one for training duo Gary & Josh Moore who ought to be much sharper on the back of an eye-catching run at Kempton.

14:00 Leicester - Mr Writer @ 5/1
As a general rule, it can be difficult to warm to backing a debutant but this is one of the rare maidens where every runner is making their debuts so taking on something with experience is off the cards, which is good.
The market will probably reveal expectations with regard to most of the newcomers, but one who jumps out on paper is the James Fanshawe-trained MR WRITER, with Daniel Muscutt booked for the ride at Leicester.
A son of Dark Angel, he cost 220,000gns as a yearling and he's a brother to Back In Black who was a dual winner over 7f, while his dam was also a winner over the same trip at two and is a half-sister to 1m Listed winner Awesometank. She is out of a 6f two-year-old winner and is a granddaughter of a Listed winner.
This opening 6f maiden at Leicester is a fascinating contest and there's no doubt a very good horse will come out on top, but perhaps Mr Writer will prove to be a bit of value on his debut.

15:40 Brighton - Imperial Cult @ 10/3
Moving over to the 1m2f handicap at Brighton and it looks like a good opportunity for the Rachel Cook & John Bridger-trained IMPERIAL CULT to find the winner's enclosure once again.
The six-year-old gelding has had two all-weather spins this year to date, running well without threatening both times, but he's now just 2lb higher than when gaining his first turf victory at Epsom last September on soft ground.
With rain forecast, that should play to his strengths and with Joe Leavy taking off 3lb in the plate in a winnable contest, he rates as a play on this occasion. If he handles the quirky nature of the track, he's a leading player.

16:45 Brighton - Rage Of Thunder @ 9/1
Gary & Josh Moore place their runners very well and in Brighton’s 7f handicap for runners rated 0-65, RAGE OF THUNDER is fancied to come out on top under promising apprentice Ashley Lewis, who has ridden three winners from 26 rides already and his 7lb claim looks very valuable at present.
Rage Of Thunder was awkwardly away from the stalls on latest run over 6f at Kempton when finishing a creditable fourth. He has to prove he can stay the extra furlong as he disappointed over this trip twice in the past, but he's lightly raced and runs from a nice mark.
