Horse Racing Tips: Agenda fits the bill

A busy day across Britain and Ireland is coming up on Tuesday with a total of five meetings running through until the evening. Punchestown gets proceedings underway at 13:48, closely followed by Uttoxeter’s National Hunt fixture (14:10) and two further Flat cards from Yarmouth (14:25) and Redcar (14:33).
The action continues late into the evening courtesy of Wolverhampton’s floodlight meeting, which gets under way at 16:25. Amongst Tuesday’s Horse Racing Tips is one of Ger Lyons’ in the opener at Punchestown, who drops markedly in class after a good effort in a Group 3 last time.
Horse Racing Tips - Tuesday, September 16
- 13:48 Punchestown - La Fogata @ 3/1
- 14:55 Yarmouth - Up The Agenda @ 11/2
- 15:25 Yarmouth - Spyce @ 7/4

13:48 Punchestown - La Fogata @ 3/1
Ger Lyons clearly holds LA FOGATA in some regard as the €130,000 purchase was put straight into Group 3 company after finishing a never-nearer fourth in a 7f Leopardstown maiden on her debut.
Up against it on the book and friendless in the market in the Newtownanner Stud Irish EBF Stakes over a mile at The Curragh last month, she looked like coming home well adrift of the principals entering the final furlong. However, Gary Carroll’s persistence paid off and the veteran pilot conjured a strong late run from the daughter of Mehmas, who made up several lengths and passed two of her rivals, including short-priced favourite, Sugar Island, near the finish.
Out of Cinemara, who won up to 1m6f, she’ll ultimately want further, but this represents a significant drop in class for the filly and she’ll likely offer some value against Aidan O’Brien’s Lookingforarainbow.

14:55 Yarmouth - Up The Agenda @ 11/2
Jack Morland’s UP THE AGENDA has shown a fair amount of ability and may prove leniently treated on his nursery debut, having been gelded since his last start.
The son of Sands Of Mali has run to Racing Post Rating of 62 and 64 in his two starts since being upped to this distance of 7f, including when travelling strongly for a long way when fourth over this course and distance last month.
A gelding operation might just help concentrate his mind and the booking of Tom Marquand (his first ride for the stable) suggests connections are expecting a big run off this opening official mark of 66.

15:25 Yarmouth - Spyce @ 7/4
Alan King is some way off the number of winners you’d generally expect of him in a Flat season this year, but he’s introduced a couple of promising newcomers of late, none more so than SPYCE, who will be hard to beat if building on last month’s second at York.
The son of Too Darn Hot cost 280,000gns at the breeze-up sales in April and he went close to making a winning debut over 7f on the Knavesmire, beaten just three-quarters-of-a-length by Aidan O’Brien’s Frescobaldi, who ran with plenty of credit when fifth in Listed company at Doncaster last week.
A half-brother to Ed Walker’s useful middle-distance handicapper Parachute and equally talented mile winner, Accentuate, he’s sure to appreciate this extra furlong.
