Saturday Horse Racing Tips: Dante dangerous to discount at Sandown

There are a total of six meetings scheduled in Britain and Ireland on Saturday, four jumps cards - including Sandown's feature Imperial Cup fixture - and two A/W Flat cards.
Amongst our Saturday fancies is one for trainer Olly Murphy, who bids to become the first horse in history to win the Imperial Cup on three occasions.

14:27 Sandown - Go Dante @ 12/1
The Murphy-trained GO DANTE bids for an unprecedented third win in the Imperial Cup at Sandown on Saturday, the ten-year-old having won the last two runnings off marks of 129 and 127.
The selection made it a perfect 3-3 at the Esher venue with a game success off 130 here in December and, while he's been nowhere near that level in two subsequent outings, he's encouragingly undergone wind surgery since pulling up at Newbury last month and could well bounce back at a course which clearly brings out the best in him.
He's now 2lb higher than his last win, but has got the assistance of Sean Bowen once again and must surely have strong place claims.

15:55 Ayr - Primoz @ 3/1
Nick Alexander has won this race for each of the last two years, including with the reopposing Ned Tanner.
However, that rival cut out alarmingly quickly when pulled up at Wetherby last time and he may well prove vulnerable to PRIMOZ, who has form figures of 113 in his three visits to Ayr.
The Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore-trained eight-year-old made steady progress over fences last season and ran respectably at both the Cheltenham and Aintree Festivals.
He’s not won in over a year, but he's now 7lb lower and hinted at a revival when third a solid third of seven over this trip at Newcastle last month, the stiff finish gradually finding him out.

18:00 Chelmsford - Beagle Bay @ 8/13
Ralph Beckett’s BEAGLE BAY shaped with a huge amount of promise when second on his debut at Newbury last April and, while an absence of 329 days is a slight concern, this should provide him with a good opportunity in which to break his duck.
The son of New Bay, who was unraced at two, went down by a head at odds of 25-1 to the now 87-rated Point Of Contact on his introduction over a mile at the Berkshire track, with a clear break back to Crown Of Oaks, who won three times subsequently and is verging on Listed class.
A drop back to 7f shouldn't inconvenience and his claims are strengthened when considering his dam won six times from 18 starts on the AW, two of those successes being achieved at this venue.
