Horse Racing Tips: Sunshine to Star at Lingfield on Thursday

Flat racing holds sway across the UK and Ireland on Thursday with six meetings taking place across the afternoon and into the evening.
Among our horse racing tips for the day is an Andrew Balding-trained filly who improved to finish second last time and looks to have a good chance of getting off the mark.

15:12 Wetherby - Reigning Queen @ EVS
This daughter of Night Of Thunder is related to several winners, including her dam, who won over 5f as a two-year-old before landing a Group 3 contest at four.
She made an encouraging debut at Southwell in April, finishing fourth of eight on the all-weather when shaping as though she would improve for the run.
That proved to be the case when she stepped forward to finish second on her turf debut over 6f at Yarmouth, chasing home the more experienced Creative Queen.
REIGNING QUEEN looked to have every chance that day but was run out of it close home.
Bred to be speedy, this drop back to 5f looks a positive move and, with Oisin Murphy taking over in the saddle for the first time, she has a good opportunity to get off the mark at the third attempt.

18:10 Lingfield - Sunshine Star @ 4/9
SUNSHINE STAR is related to plenty of winners, including a half-sister to Oaks winner Soul Sister, and shaped with promise on her debut at Kempton in October when second to She Commands, who has since won again.
The John & Thady Gosden three-year-old was well backed on her reappearance at Sandown and first start on turf, but could only manage a disappointing sixth behind Felicitas, who went on to finish a close-up second in the Musidora behind Legacy Link.
She looked in need of the run that day and is worth another chance back down in class. This looks a much weaker race on paper and she looks the one to beat back on the AW.

18:30 Leopardstown - Endorsement @ 3/10
ENDORSEMENT made a promising start to his career when finishing second on debut at Killarney behind current Derby favourite Benvenuto Cellini before getting off the mark on his next start.
He then stepped up in class and ran a fine race to finish second behind stablemate Pierre Bonnard in the Group 3 Zetland Stakes at Newmarket.
His final start as a two-year-old in France is easy enough to forgive, with the testing ground appearing against him.
He looks to have improved as a three-year-old, finishing second to Christmas Day at Leopardstown before improving again when a close-up third in the Derby Trial at the same venue.
This represents a drop in class and, with Ryan Moore taking over in the saddle for the first time, it would be no surprise to see Endorsement return to winning ways on his first attempt at this trip.
