Horse Racing Tips: Red Spells Danger to show true colours
A mixture of jumps and flat racing takes place across the UK and Ireland on Thursday with five meetings scheduled across the afternoon and into the evening. First off is Perth, before we go at Beverley, Warwick and then into the later afternoon for two AW meetings at Southwell and Dundalk.
Among our Thursday fancies is three-year-old Red Spells Danger who is bidding to get off the mark at the sixth attempt, down in class and should go close.

17:10 Dundalk - Real Encounter @ 15/8
This doesn’t look a strong race on paper at all and REAL ENCOUNTER won’t have to improve much to take this.
She was fourth on debut at Leopardstown behind Fairy Oak, who arrived on the back of a fifth in a Group 3. She improved on her second start at Dundalk when stepped up in trip, again finishing fourth behind Yellowstone Lake.
Mrs John Harrington’s filly ran to a similar level on her first start as a three-year-old over 6f at Dundalk, when just denied by Allsortz, who had race fitness on his side.
Real Encounter is related to plenty of winners, including Group 3 scorer Real Appeal, and she looks capable of winning this race. The step back in trip shouldn’t cause too many problems and she can get off the mark at the fourth attempt.
17:10 Dundalk - Winner

19:15 Dundalk - Druids Glen @ 13/8
The son of Frankel, DRUIDS GLEN is a full-brother to multiple Group 1 winner Lake Victoria, so there should be plenty more to come from this three-year-old.
He made his racecourse debut at Leopardstown back in October, where he finished fifth, showing signs of inexperience by running green before keeping on late.
Stepped up to a mile and with a change of tactics at the Curragh on his latest start, he finished sixth of 20 in a competitive-looking maiden, which was his best effort yet on RPRs.
In both races to date he has been outpaced, so this marked step up in trip to 1m4f should bring about plenty of improvement. This doesn’t look a deep race at all, Wayne Lordan takes over the reins for the first time, and if he takes to the surface, this well-bred three-year-old can get off the mark at the third attempt.

19:30 Southwell - Red Spells Danger @ 6/4
RED SPELLS DANGER failed to get off the mark as a two-year-old in four attempts but ran some good races, posting consistent RPRs.
He was an encouraging third on debut at York before stepping up in class in a strong-looking maiden, finishing sixth, only beaten just over three lengths behind Frescobaldi, who is now rated 96, while Spryce was second and is rated 100.
He ran to a similar level next time out at Ayr when third behind Nobody Knows; that form has worked out well, with the winner scoring again and the fourth winning his next two.
The son of Cotai Glory was then sixth of 14 at York in another competitive race, only beaten just over three lengths on his final start as a two-year-old.
His first run back of the season came at Catterick, where he finished second to Jeddaal. If taking to the surface, he will go close to gaining his first win down in class.
19:30 Southwell - Winner
