Horse Racing Tips: Radiance to shine at Salisbury for Boughey

There are three Flat cards in Britain on Tuesday and the meeting at Lingfield, which begins with three races on the all-weather before concluding with three on the turf, is where we have concentrated our attention.

14:50 Salisbury - Box Clever @ 10/11
BOX CLEVER has shown ability in her two career starts for Jonathan Portman and looks a filly on the up. She made her debut in a strong-looking Class 2 fillies’ novice at Newbury, where her performance can be marked up.
She did well to finish sixth that day, having been hampered when asked for her effort, before running on nicely through the line.
Portman’s charge returned to Newbury for her second start and again shaped with promise, finishing third in what looked a decent race on paper.
She showed signs of being outpaced and took a while to pick up in a steadily run contest, but stayed on strongly towards the finish.
Improving with each run, this doesn't appear as strong as the two races she has contested so far. If getting a stronger gallop to aim at, she should be right there.

20:15 Chelmsford - Majaz @ 4/5
Roger Varian’s filly MAJAZ cost 450,000gns as a yearling and shaped with promise on debut on the all-weather at Newcastle last year when fourth.
She took a big step forward from that run when staying on nicely to finish second behind Blue Bolt at Newbury over a mile.
That form has worked out well, with the winner going on to land the Listed Coral Distaff at Sandown on her next start.
She was disappointing last time when only second at 2/9 favourite at Yarmouth, looking a little one-paced.
However, there’s plenty to like about her pedigree as she’s a sister to Group-placed Hafit and closely related to Group 2 1m2f winner Elarqam, so this step up in trip could unlock improvement.
It would be no surprise to see her bounce back and get off the mark at the fourth attempt.

16:00 Salisbury - Radiance @ 4/7
George Boughey’s two-year-old filly RADIANCE created quite an impression on debut when running out a commanding winner by over four lengths.
She cost 150,000gns at the breeze ups and was strongly supported in the market, indicating she had been showing plenty at home.
Despite showing signs of greenness early on, she quickened up smartly after two furlongs and put the race to bed in a matter of strides. The manner of her victory suggests she is above average and she should have no problem defying a 6lb penalty.
This step up in trip looks like a positive move as well, as she was drawing clear at the finish and has plenty of stamina in her pedigree.
While the form has taken a couple of knocks, with the second and third beaten since, she remains an exciting filly with a bright future.
