Horse Racing Tips: Beckett’s Bay can show his Brilliance on Saturday

We have nine meetings taking place across Britain and Ireland on Saturday and there’s a mix of Flat and National Hunt action on offer, giving us plenty to sink our teeth into. Lingfield hosts a couple of Classic trials, which have attracted the interest of Aidan O’Brien once again, and Ascot offers up the prestigious and valuable Victoria Cup. Haydock’s Swinton Handicap Hurdle isn’t to be missed and Naas and Killarney host Listed contests.
We have highlighted three horses with significant chances in some of the top races at Lingfield and Ascot and for our horse racing tips for Saturday.

13:28 Lingfield - Romantic Symphony @ 6/4
Aidan O’Brien landed both the Oaks and Derby trials at Lingfield last season but leading British trainer Charlie Appleby looks well set to spoil the Ballydoyle party here. His runner ROMANTIC SYMPHONY has only had two starts thus far and retains lots of potential.
Making her debut over a mile at Newmarket in September, she showed signs of greenness when drifting to her left in the final furlong but still managed to come out on top by just shy of a length. That form has been boosted, with the second and fifth both winning since.
She made a winning return at three, bolting up in a Kempton novice over 1m3f last month. The daughter of Dubawi is more than ready for the step up in grade one that evidence and her impeccable pedigree tells us she could be heading for the major prizes this summer.

13:58 Lingfield - Bay Of Brilliance @ 5/1
This potentially isn’t the deepest renewal of the Lingfield Derby Trial and the progressive BAY OF BRILLIANCE could be worth considering at a decent price. Ralph Beckett’s three-year-old improved with every start as a two-year-old and the trip will suit.
This son of New Bay could only manage fifth on debut but improved significantly to get off the mark over 1m2f in a hot race at Goodwood next time. It’s worth noting that the Charlie Appleby-trained runner-up went on to win his next start by a whopping 15 lengths.
Beckett’s colt made all the running at Redcar after that and a 7lb penalty made absolutely no difference. Further progress was on display and the eight-and-a-half-length winning margin suggests that he could be a smart performer over middle distances this season.

14:20 Ascot - Mudbir @ 6/1
John & Thady Gosden’s MUDBIR has only had three starts in handicap company and the son of Kingman has managed to win two of them. This horse appears to be a 7f specialist, although he did manage to win his maiden over a mile at Chelmsford last term.
He showed a good attitude to return to winning ways at Sandown in July and the runner-up, who is in opposition once again here, has boosted the form by winning since. Very strong at the finish on that occasion, he saw the trip out well to score by half a length.
Mudbir knuckled down well to score by a short head in a good race at Glorious Goodwood in August and he may well be capable of going in again before the handicapper catches up.
