Daily racing tips

There's a little something to cater to every racing fan's tastes on Monday with the six meetings across Britain and Ireland equally split between Flat and National Hunt.

Catterick kicks us off in the afternoon and Southwell follows swiftly after. Ireland hosts a couple of twilight meetings from Roscommon and Killarney, with the latter hosting the Grade 3 An Riocht Chase. Windsor and Wolverhampton close out the action in Britain.

Amongst our Monday fancies is Clive a Cox runner in the Class 3 Fitzdares Sprint Series Handicap at Windsor, who is now back down to his last winning mark.

17:37 Killarney - Midnight Jet @ SP

Three of the four big guns are represented in this novice event and it could go the way of Henry de Bromhead's MIDNIGHT JET. He has had just four starts over rules so far and only three of them have come over hurdles, with victory coming at Fairyhouse last time out.

Making his debut under rules in a bumper here last May, he kept on well to score by just shy of two lengths for Sam Curling on that occasion. The son of Maxios was then purchased privately and he finished third in a Cork maiden hurdle over two miles on stable debut.

A little disappointing when fifth at Leopardstown next time, he left that run well behind him when scoring comfortably at Fairyhouse. That form has received a couple of boosts since, as the second and third both won their next starts.

This does look potentially a little tougher, with Willie Mullins' French recruit and Gordon Elliott's maiden winner in opposition, but there should be more to come.

18:17 Windsor - Diligently @ 9/2

Saffie Osborne has been amongst the winners in the last couple of weeks and she rides the four-year-old DILIGENTLY for Clive Cox in Windsor's feature £20,000 event. There's plenty to like about his chances and the son of Harry Angel could be very well treated.

Fourth on both starts so far this season, he was comfortably beaten on both occasions, but the handicapper is beginning to respond and has dropped him a couple of pounds since. His last success came off this very mark over course and distance in August, which bodes well.

That victory came by a narrow margin, but he did manage to back that up with a narrow defeat off a 1lb higher mark at Thirsk next time. He's entitled to improve as a four-year-old, although we haven't seen that so far, but he's back down to a winnable mark and should run a big race.

18:37 Killarney - Gentleman De Mee @ SP

Willie Mullins is the man to beat in this race, as is the case with most races in Ireland, but he has won this Grade 3 contest in three of the last four years. His sole representative this time around is GENTLEMAN DE MEE and the 10-year-old looks like the one to beat.

It was a much better effort when fourth in the Topham Chase off a big weight at Aintree last time out and this race looks very winnable, despite being a Grade 3, and he has more than enough form in the book to suggest he can come out on top here.

Mullins' gelding was competing in Grade 1 races a couple of seasons ago and managed to win the Dublin Chase at Leopardstown back in 2023. It'll be a big surprise if he's not bang in the mix here.
