Beverley Racecourse

Today's Horse Races across Britain and Ireland come from Sandown Park, Doncaster, Newton Abbot, Bellewstown, Cork, Beverley, and finally Haydock Park.

Friday's racing tips includes one for trainer Michael Dods who bids to win five races on the bounce and can't be taken on in her current form.

Friday's Racing Tips

  • 18:00 Beverley - Emeralds Pride @ 4/1
  • 19:10 Beverley - Patronage e/w @ 13/2
  • 19:45 Beverley - Lord Warburton e/w @ 9/1

18:00 Beverley - Emeralds Pride @ 4/1

The first tip of the day runs in the 5f handicap at Beverley and it's going to take a big performance from one of her rivals to lower the colours of EMERALDS PRIDE, who has every chance of pulling off the five-timer in the hands of Connor Beasley.

Michael Dods' mare won three times between August and September of last year and came back from a lengthy absence to win over course and distance on her return to action in May.

Emeralds Pride clearly loves this track and has form figures that read 211 over track and trip. She can only improve on her most recent outing and the effort can be marked up because she was slowly away and had a lot on after her tardy start.

19:10 Beverley - Patronage e/w @ 13/2

Any signs of a market move would be interesting for Alice Haynes' runner Lizzie Lovett on her handicap debut as connections have booked Silvestre De Sousa for the ride, but PATRONAGE might be the right one to side with in the extended mile handicap.

The three-year-old got off the mark for the first time on the all-weather at Newcastle over a mile in March and also went close at this track in May over 1m2f when second from a mark of 54.

Patronage made no mistake next time over 1m2f at Nottingham from the same mark, and although he failed to back that up at that track next time, he's effectively 1lb lower than his last winning mark now when Alex Jary's claim is factored in. Big each-way chance.

This is an Extra Place Race, with Betfred paying four places instead of three at 1/5 odds.

19:45 Beverley - Lord Warburton e/w @ 9/1

A decent horse on the Flat for Michael Bell back in 2020, LORD WARBURTON had many disappointing efforts for Mark Campion and Mike Sowersby both on the Flat and over hurdles, but something clicked last time when causing a 125/1 upset over 1m2f at Pontefract.

It's tough to figure out where the improvement came from. He was beaten a combined 281 lengths in three hurdle starts prior to that victory and was tailed off on his penultimate Flat run at Ripon last year.

Sowersby has unlocked the key to Lord Warburton and, although he has a few extra pounds to contend with here, if he can reproduce his latest run, he's ought to be very competitive in this company. The extra couple of furlongs shouldn't be an issue for this horse either.
