Horse Racing Tips: Diamond Rain looks set to dominate again

A busy day of racing awaits on Friday, with action from Cartmel, the Curragh, Doncaster, Newcastle, Newmarket and Yarmouth to enjoy.
Among our horse racing tips for Friday is a useful mare for Charlie Appleby who looks set to progress further.

16:08 Yarmouth - Invited @ 11/2
INVITED has improved drastically since joining George Boughey’s stable and won two good races earlier in the season, before taking a backward step at Musselburgh in April and the yard has given him a break to recover.
Excusing his last run, his form is quite strong, as evidenced by his latest win at Kempton. The second Brindavan has since won a Class 3 at Ascot, and the third-finishing Best Rate has come second in a Class 3 event at York.
He’s back in calmer waters here, dropping back down in grade and he should be pretty hard to beat if returning from his break in good order.

19:05 Newcastle - Diamond Rain @ 4/5
Charlie Applebly’s mare DIAMOND RAIN should be able to continue her progress by scoring in this weak Group 3 event. She was an impressive winner at Haydock in a Listed contest, comfortably beating Running Lion, who recently finished fourth in a Group 2 at Royal Ascot.
Her main market rival here is Charlotte’s Web, who is stepping up into Group company for the first time. Her best form is winning a Class 2 event at Lingfield two starts prior. So Charlie Appleby’s mare should just be a cut above her rivals as she has been campaigned in better races.
She should continue to progress and is still unexposed enough to have plenty of bigger days ahead of her.

19:35 Newcastle - Paddy's Day @ 12/1
Nigel Tinkler’s gelding PADDY’S DAY looks set to return to winning ways here in a very competitive Class 2 event on the all-weather.
Tinkler’s gelding has been running some good races of late on the turf, but it is the tapeta that brings out the best in him.
Since January, Paddy’s Day has been an ultra-consistent performer around Newcastle, winning four races consecutively. In his most recent win at Newcastle in a Class 2 event, he beat the reopposing Bergerac in dominant fashion.
Paddy’s Day is a great front-runner and the field will struggle to peg him back if he is allowed to dominate from the front again.
