15:10 Sandown - Enchanted Queen @ 8/11
This daughter of Ghaiyyath, Enchanted Queen, was well fancied to make a winning debut and, for much of the race, looked as though she would justify that support. However, at the crucial stage, she began to hang her head and showed signs of greenness, with her lack of race experience ultimately costing her as she lost to a more experienced runner.
Even so, she shaped with plenty of promise and left the impression that she can win a race of this calibre before long. Her pedigree suggests further improvement is likely, particularly over longer distances.
The step up to a mile should be right up her street, and heading to Sandown, where her sire landed the 2020 Eclipse, could be another positive.

16:15 Sandown - Blue For You @ 15/2
Blue For You makes the trip from Yorkshire down south to Sandown and runs off an attractively low mark of 89.
The five-time winner tends to perform best at York, with all three of his UK victories coming there. However, he has also performed well elsewhere, including at Sandown, where he has only run once, finishing a solid third.
His mark has now fallen to 89, which is 6lb lower than his previous winning mark, but he has been contesting some very competitive handicaps with large, high-quality fields. This race looks slightly easier than the ones he has been running in recently.
When he does win, it often comes after a below-par showing last time out, so his recent form can largely be ignored, as he can dip in and out of form without warning.
He is the yard’s sole runner at Sandown on Friday and will be aiming to make the long trip worthwhile, especially given the more favourable conditions and lenient handicap mark.

16:20 Chester - Dapper Valley @ 4/5
The James Owen-trained Dapper Valley heads to Chester carrying a 4lb penalty after his impressive win at Kempton and has been blessed with a low draw, giving him a great chance to follow up that success.
At Kempton, he had to overcome a tricky wide draw, yet the way he travelled and then pulled clear of his rivals showed it was no hindrance at all.
He is due to rise to a mark of 80, meaning he is technically 7lb well in for this race. On top of that, apprentice Ashley Lewis takes the ride and claims a valuable 7lb, enhancing his prospects even further.
Since switching yards, he has really turned a corner, showing renewed consistency and strength, and with such a favourable draw, he looks very hard to oppose. If he runs to the same level as last time out, he should take plenty of beating and can make it back-to-back victories.
