Horse Racing Tips: There’s a Force to be reckoned with at Brighton

It feels like it has been a while since I last provided some racing content so here I am to provide my Daily Double for Monday. There are four meetings scheduled across the UK and I have picked out what I consider to be my two best bets of the day.

14:12 Brighton - Poetic Force @ 9/1

A seven-race card is pencilled in at Brighton and it all kicks off with this Class 6 handicap over 1m. Betfred are paying out four places instead of three on this one, which may add to the appeal of this 15-horse contest.

There are several who are worth considering on Monday but one who stands out to me is the veteran POETIC FORCE, for Tony Carroll's yard. The 11-year-old gelding landed his 17th career victory over C&D last month. Matthew Slater was his rider on that occasion and the pair will link up once again in Sussex.

He may not have continued a winning run since that triumph but he has still shown good form, posting consecutive second-place finishes in his last two outings at Brighton (7f) and more recently Carlisle (1m).

Poetic Force is still working with a respectable mark for this contest and recent form suggests that there is still life in the ageing star.

18:30 Kempton - Toralou @ 9/2

My double is completed with TORALOU, who is in action at Kempton, which is hosting a stacked nine-race card. Toralou is representing Mark Loughnane's yard, having made the switch over from David O'Meara's charges in July.

The four-year-old filly's life under her new trainer has started well, starting with back-to-back second-place finishes at Windsor and Ffos Las before getting off the mark on her latest appearance at Musselburgh.

All three came over 1m, the same trip she contests in this Class 5 handicap at Kempton. Her previous three appearances have shown great promise and I think another strong performance awaits the daughter of U S Navy Flag on Monday.
