Betfred 1000 guineas betting tips 2026

It's all about the girls at Newmarket on Sunday (15:35), as 19 fillies go to post for the Betfred 1000 Guineas - Classic number two of the season.

My Betfred 1000 Guineas tips consists of two at each-way prices.

In a wide-open renewal of the Betfred 1000 Guineas, if Precise isn't quite 100% and Venetian Sun doesn't stay the trip, I'm backing a couple each way (four places, 1/5 odds).

Starting with EVOLUTIONIST for Karl Burke and Shane Foley.

If she runs, that is. Connections are on weather watch, hoping for as little rain as possible. Fingers crossed.

Given the green light, I've got high hopes for the Night Of Thunder filly after her Group 3 success at Longchamp exactly three weeks ago.

She beat a good field in Paris, including Narissa and Green Spirit for Francis Henri-Graffard and Christopher Head respectively. That pair finished immediately behind Aidan O'Brien's Diamond Necklace, who would've been right at the top of the market for Sunday's race if lining up, in the G1 Prix Marcel Boussac - Criterium des Pouliches over the same course and distance at the end of last season.

That suggests the selection, who wasn't disgraced behind Precise in the Fillies' Mile in October, has improved a lot over the winter, which makes Evolutionist my idea of dar-winner. Oh dear.

I'm also suggesting an each-way play on DOMINA INGIS at a huge price.

Kevin Philippart De Foy's daughter of Pinatubo, who fetched €300k at a breeze-up almost exactly 12 months ago, made her debut over six furlongs at Southwell in November, bolting up by five lengths.

The runner-up, Angel Gabriel for Ralph Beckett, was awarded a mark of 82 after going in at Lingfield on his subsequent start, suggesting the selection ran to somewhere in the mid-high 80s on her first day at school.

That was her only start at two, returning 148 days later for the G3 Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury. She was third of 14 in Berkshire, only two lengths off the winner and slightly less from the runner-up Touleen, who reopposes on Sunday. The latter is 16/1 to win the second Classic of the season, as opposed to 50s for the selection. Answers on a postcard, please...

Domina Ignis was strong in the finish at Newbury, suggesting she'll improve for the step up to a mile, and I'm hopeful she can run for Amo Racing. At that price, she's got to be worth a few quid each way.
