Doncaster Tips: Balding’s Displaying has big claims on Town Moor

There is plenty of racing in store across Britain and Ireland on Friday, with a sextet of meetings taking place across the afternoon and into the evening. Flat racing comes from Doncaster, Yarmouth, Newmarket, Newcastle and the Curragh, while they race over the jumps at Cartmel.
We're focused on Doncaster, with seven races on Town Moor from 13:50-17:05 and conditions anticipated to be 'Good to firm-good in places'.
Doncaster Tips - Friday, June 27
13:50 Doncaster - Hi Ya Mal @ 2/1
Sir Mark Prescott's recent Ripon winner Pendragon is likely to prove popular here. He won easily in the end on his handicap bow when upped in trip after a lay-off and he could be well treated now under his penalty.
It is, though, a quick turnaround after that layoff and the race he won last time was weak. He's going to butt heads with an in-form rival in HI YA MAL this time for Andrew Balding.
The New Bay colt improved when switched to handicaps on the all-weather in the spring and has done so again back on turf.
He won over 1m4f (good) at Hamilton in May and ran well from 1lb lower than this at Sandown (1m6f, good) last time, only beaten a length by two rivals in rude health themselves.
Danny Tudhope's partner strikes as one that will improve again and can take down the likely favourite.

15:20 Doncaster - Displaying @ 4/7
It could be a good day for Balding as he looks to have standout claims with DISPLAYING in the Doncaster Racecourse Supporting Racing Staff Week Handicap over 1m2f.
The Cheveley Park Stud inmate was favourite for a Goodwood contest over this trip on handicap bow earlier in the month and finished a commendable second after a troubled run.
He was on the far-side running rail turning in and had to come right across the track to get room to challenge. He looked well held with a half-furlong to run, but finished well to grab second spot.
Goodwood is often a tale of such woes and, with Oisin Murphy taking over now from 1lb higher, this promising three-year-old looks set to take some halting.

17:05 Doncaster - Willolarupi @ 3/1
The Declan Carroll-trained WILLOLARUPI has found form recently and can notch a second win in three starts under claimer Zak Wheatley.
He won over 6f at Redcar in May, getting up with some comfort after being held up, and was unlucky not to follow up at Pontefract (6f, good) earlier this month.
He had to wait for room to challenge and was flying at the end before being held by a head by 28/1 outsider Speeding Bullet.
He was also second behind a thriving rival who has won twice since at Wetherby in April and, while yet to win off a mark as high as 72, that run 18 days ago suggested it won't be too long until he does.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
