Horse Racing Tips: Theonlywayisessex can continue his fine start to the season

Wednesday's racing action across the UK and Ireland offers a mixture of flat and jump racing, with six meetings taking place. I'm back with another Daily Double hoping to land success for our punters.

Daily Double - Wednesday 15 July 2026
*Odds correct at time of publishing
15:01 Bath - Bellatina @ 11/4
Charlie Johnston-trained BELLATINA will be hoping to get off the mark at the sixth attempt when she contests the 15:01 at Bath on Wednesday, which covers a distance of 5f.
The two-year-old filly has posted three second-place finishes to date, including in each of her past two outings at Hamilton and Catterick, with the latter coming on 8 July. Bellatina was narrowly beaten by Penny Capri last week and so it does seem that she's not far away from landing her first success.
The daughter of Belardo looks to have the strongest claims of this field looking at both her form and that of her rivals. Sean Bowen is on board for this one and he posted a couple of winners at Worcester on Friday.

16:18 Uttoxeter - Theonlywayiswessex @ 10/3
Jumping action comes from Uttoxeter and there are just five runners declared for this Class 4 handicap chase over 2m4f. THEONLYWAYISWESSEX, who represents Alan King's yard, has two career victories over this distance, including the gelding's previous appearance at Warwick on 3 June.
The eight-year-old went one step further after posting a second-place finish on the same course a month prior to kickstart his 2026 campaign. Further progress is expected from him here, especially as he boasts stronger form than most of the rivals he'll face on Wednesday.
Pep Talking and Le Gentleman pose the biggest threat to Theonlywayiswessex here, but I fancy King's charge to add to his recent victory.
Tom Bellamy, who steered him to glory last time out, is booked for this ride. Bellamy has been on board for four of the previous five outings and this consistency in the saddle should give King's yard the advantage.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
