Horse Racing Tips: Independent Jimmy is doing things his way

Six race meetings are taking place across the UK and Ireland on Tuesday, with a mixture of flat and jumps racing on offer. So there is something for every racing fan to enjoy. 

I've taken a good look at the cards lined up and I have picked out two horses from Lingfield and Market Rasen for my Daily Double. Read on to find out my latest Horse Racing Tips.

16:00 Lingfield - Saxonia @ 10/3

There is an interesting Class 4 contest taking place at Lingfield over 1m and there are 11 runners declared for this one. There are couple who head here with decent claims but the one I am looking to is SAXONIA for Charlie Johnston's yard.

The three-year-old gelding has four wins this year and has found improvement in his performances from the fitting of cheekpieces, helping him to claim 1m handicaps at Pontefract and Musselburgh, with the latter coming on his last appearance.

Between these two successes came a respectable second-place finish over C&D here in September, and he was only beaten by 3/4 lengths by Arctician. Saxonia returns to this track with a 3lb rise from his last outing and another bold bid is expected, which is only strengthened by the fact that he is being steered by the talented Oisin Murphy.

16:21 Market Rasen - Independent Jimmy @ 9/4

Fences action at Market Rasen is where I have turned to for my second selection, and it is INDEPENDENT JIMMY who has my favour in this Class 5 handicap chase over 2m3f.

He is one of eight runners entered in this field and he is representing Donald McCain's yard. The six-year-old gelding got off the mark over hurdles at the 10th attempt at Bangor-on-Dee last month, which was followed by an impressive chasing debut at Worcester last time out (2m4f) as he finished second behind Kingoftheswingerz.

He conceded late on after looking to be in position to win but it didn't take away from what was a promising display and connections will be hoping that there is more to come from him on Tuesday.

I predict that we will see another strong performance from him and that he will be a big player once again.
