Horse Racing Tips: Jim Goldie’s gelding could enjoy more success at Ayr

There are six race meetings to sink our teeth into across the UK and Ireland on Thursday, so there are plenty of options when it comes to my Daily Double.

Having cast my eye over the schedule, two runners stick out for me at Ayr and Chelmsford. Below you will find my latest Horse Racing Tips.

15:55 Ayr - Dwindling Funds @ 6/4

Having enjoyed four wins here this season, DWINDLING FUNDS should be itching to go again at Ayr on Thursday. The gelding, trained by Jim Goldie is making his sixth-straight appearance at this track, so the familiarity here should stand him in good stead.

He is declared for this Class 5 handicap over 7f, having posted a C&D victory here last month. His other successes here have come over 1m and 1m2f, so he is well-adjusted to different trips at Ayr.

The son of Too Darn Hot is striving to make it back-to-back successes here, after winning over 1m last week. The return to 7f should suit him and he returns with strong claims.

18:45 Chelmsford - Benacre @ 4/1

To Chelmsford, now, for my second selection and it is BENACRE for Charlie Johnstone's yard who has my favour in this AW Class 4 handicap over 7f. The five-year-old gelding has two wins from 10 outings in AW affairs, with the latest coming at Southwell on August 28 as he made all over 7f.

This was followed by a respectable second-place finish at Chester (7f) in his most recent appearance on September 12. His last two performances have shown real promise and there could be more to come from him in this field on Thursday.

Joe Fanning, who steered the son of Australia to success at Southwell, is booked for this ride, and connections will be hoping that this can be a winning combination once again.
