Horse Racing Tips: Skeltons set for local success on Sunday

Saturday 18th July 2026, 18:30

There are just four race meetings on offer across the UK and Ireland on Sunday, with three flat cards and one for jumps. This may have limited my options for my Daily Double, but it's also given me the time to study each card carefully.

You will find my latest Horse Racing Tips below.

Daily Double - Sunday 19 July 2026

  • 13:45 Stratford - Loriko @ 9/4
  • 16:08 Redcar - Be Patient @ 4/9

13:45 Stratford - Loriko @ 9/4

Jumps action is provided by Stratford in Warwickshire. Nearby Alcester is the base for one of Dan Skelton's yards and he heads to CV37 with a strong chance in LORIKO, who contests this Class 3 over 2m½f.

This five-year-old gelding got off the mark at the ninth attempt in May at Huntingdon (2m4½f), before following up at Uttoxeter last month (2m). He underwent wind surgery shortly after and he marked his return on Saturday at Market Rasen (2m4½f) on Saturday.

He posted a respectable second from six finish, losing out to Master Haku by a half-length. Dropping back down in trip should suit him in Stratford.

16:08 Redcar - Be Patient @ 4/9

BE PATIENT for Edward Bethell's yard has fared well on his three starts to date. On debut, the colt finished third at Newcastle over 1m before returning to win over the same distance in November.

His long-awaited return came on 3 July as he made it successive victories by landing a 1m2f handicap at Doncaster. The three-year-old now heads to Redcar to cover that same distance in a Class 4 handicap.

Be Patient has three rivals to deal with here, and two who are more experienced than him. However, on his current form, he can certainly teach the older heads a thing or two.
