Horse Racing Tips: Does more Doncaster success await Come On Over?

There are eight race meetings scheduled for Saturday across the UK and Ireland, six of which are hosting flat action. Curragh and Doncaster are two of the six and they both have interesting cards in store.

16:00 Curragh - Carry The Flag @ 5/1

A sunny afternoon is expected in County Kildare on Saturday which can set the tone for the action at Curragh. Training guru Aidan O'Brien has two entries in this Group 2 contest, and the stronger entrant for his stable looks to be CARRY THE FLAG.

This two-year-old colt has made a bright start to his racing career. He's already posted two second-place finishes here, with the latest coming over 6f, the same distance he'll cover on Saturday.

The son of No Nay Never has registered two successes at Naas, with the latest coming last time out on 4 July. He should be in a confident mood upon his return to R56.

Wayne Lordan is booked for this ride, and the Cork-born jockey steered Carry The Flag to his maiden victory back in May.

17:40 Doncaster - Come On Over @ 9/4

Over in South Yorkshire, I'm looking at the Class 5 handicap over 5f which kicks off the evening card at Doncaster. COME ON OVER for David O'Meara's yard is in fine shape ahead of this appearance because each of his previous three outings have been over C&D.

There's been improvement each time as he went from a fourth (14 June), to a second (26 June) before securing his maiden success on 3 July. The three-year-old gelding looks one of the strongest contenders in this field of six and I believe his familiarity with this track could set him apart from the rest.

Jockey Conor Whitely takes over from Danny Tudhope, who's been on board for Come On Over's last three starts, in the saddle.
