Chester Tips: Three to consider for Friday

There are seven UK and Irish race meetings taking place across Friday and there is a seven-race card to look forward to at Chester.
Below you will find my Chester Tips for Friday, July 11.

18:55 Chester - Mayday Malone @ 4/1
My first pick for the day comes from this Class 4 handicap over seven-and-a-half furlongs. There have been 12 runners declared for this one and there are a handful who are worth considering. From my perspective, I think MAYDAY MALONE could be a shrewd selection here.
The three-year-old gelding has shown huge leaps in improvement in his last three runs since early June, with two second-place finishes here and Newmarket, before triumphing here on his last showing. That was a 7f trip, while his second-place finish was over the distance that will be travelled on Friday.
It was his first victory at the ninth attempt and trainer Michael Bell will be hoping he can build on that now. Returning to familiar territory, especially after a fresh victory, should serve him well here and considering he is versatile ground-wise, Mayday Malone has a strong chance here.

19:55 Chester - Patagonia Girl @ 6/1
PATAGONIA GIRL will be looking to make it a hat-trick of victories when she makes a swift return to Chester, having prevailed here on June 28. The other win came at Salisbury and both were over trips of 1m 2f, which is the distance for this Class 3 handicap on Friday.
The step down in trip from 1m f4 looks to have worked out brilliantly for the three-year-old filly, and she looks very comfortable right now. Trainer Hugo Palmer and connections will be delighted with how things are going at the minute and a third consecutive victory would be a real marker of her progress this season.
She heads to Chester up a further 5lbs but I don't think that will have too much of an impact on proceedings. I'm confident that she will complete the hat-trick, especially given her familiarity with the track.

20:25 Chester - Maharajas Express @ 10/1
The penultimate race of the day is this Class 4 handicap over a 5f distance. There are a couple of attractive runners for this one but it is MAHARAJAS EXPRESS who has my favour.
The five-year-old gelding is looking to land his first victory since February at Wolverhampton. He has shown promise this season and his last two outings at Windsor saw him post respectable second-place finishes over a similar trip.
This sprinter has barely put a foot wrong in 2025 and he looks well-suited for the conditions set for Chester on Friday. The slightly longer course here may just play into hands and despite a break since May, he is expected to be fresh upon his first visit to this racecourse since September.
Maharajas Express has been knocking on the door recently and I think a return to winning ways might be imminent.
