Katie Walsh’s Cheltenham Tuesday Day 1 Tips: Lossiemouth my NAP of the day

The Cheltenham Festival gets underway on Tuesday, and few people understand the unique demands of the Cotswolds better than former top jockey Katie Walsh.
Fresh from sharing her thoughts at Monday night’s Betfred Festival Preview, Katie has been weighing up the key contenders and has given us her Cheltenham Festival day 1 tips.
A Festival winner in her own right and now one of racing’s most respected analysts, Walsh brings the insight of someone who has experienced the meeting from the saddle as well as the studio.
From the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle to the Champion Hurdle later in the card, Katie has been assessing where the value may lie on a fiercely competitive opening day. Here are Katie Walsh's Cheltenham Tuesday Day 1 tips...

NAP - 16:00 Lossiemouth @ 7/4
My NAP for day 1 is Lossiemouth in the Champion Hurdle, I absolutely love her...
She's got cheekpieces on her and she's uber consistent around Cheltenham. She's a three times winner there and I think she wins again tomorrow.
She operates beautifully round here and clearly loves it, she's also obviously getting that 7lb Mares' allowance which could be the big difference.
Lossiemouth all day for me but I also like the look of Golden Ace to do well again. She's been here and done that...

NB - 13:20 Old Park Star @ 9/4
My next best bet is perhaps a little too short but I do like Old Park Star in the Supreme Novices'.
He's a super jumper, quick as fire, gallops, jumps and I love everything about him.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
14:00 Kopek Des Bordes @ 6/4
If Willie (Mullins) wins the first, then everyone will automatically jump onto Kopek Des Bordes and in my opinion rightly so. Listen , I love a bit of Cheltenham consistency and that have done it round here before and Kopek has certainly done that.
Obviously I've not seen him since Navan, not ideal, he's been schooled twice since, wasn't brilliant the next time, was super after that.
I also love a bit of Kargese, whos also very consistent but think that Kopek gets it done here.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
