Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase Tips: Wide-open heat and so many with chances

This prestigious race has had several sponsors since the mid-60s, as is very common in sport. It's registered title is the Broadway Novices' Chase; but what's inescapable is that rattling good horses tend to win it, and often go on to achieve great things.
The 2026 renewal looks a wide-open cracker!

One question - anyone else a bit concerned that some of these, especially those towards the head of the market, might not stay the 3m 1f trip?
This is a proper test, and while stepping up might be the making for some, for others it may well be several bridges too far. So - I've concentrated my search on one with undoubted ability, but who I hope and feel will deal positively with this distance, only just short of that used for the Gold Cup itself.
To emphasise this point the race has produced Grand National as well as Gold Cup winners, and stamina is a must. No question. Let's look at some of the huge names on the roll of honour.
Mandarin, Arkle (yes, the greatest of them all), Spanish Steps, Ten Up, Tied Cottage, Garrison Savannah, Miinnehoma, Young Hustler, Florida Pearl, Looks Like Trouble, Denman, Bobs Worth, and Fact To File. Stellar names with massive accomplishments after they'd taken this huge prize.
So - I'm going with a fine yard that's enjoying a decent season (70+ winners); a big-race jockey that's making a career of taking down the tasty ones when required; plus a horse who at seven has all stretching out beautifully before him and last time out at just about this trip won by an unchallenged 22l, on soft ground.

Jamie Snowden trains and Gavin Sheehan rides this French-bred Great Pretender gelding who should stay the trip no bother, and who on that last bloodless spin up at Ayr 41 days ago produced a career-best.
The horse is six-from-12 lifetime, and has won two of his four chases. He won a point at 3m too, and was beaten 8l in last year's Albert Bartlett here over 3m, staying on - not fading.
If he can keep tabs on the principals he can hopefully stay on best or at least get into the placings to ensure a return, if we play each-way.
Romeo Coolio is a big talent but does he want this trip? We'll soon find out on Wednesday. Similar thoughts about Final Demand, but despite that modest showing last time in Leopardstown I still fear the Willie Mullins gelding. A great deal!
JP McManus has two with chances (Kaid d'Authie and Oscars Brother) and with 16 slated to face the starter as I write it's a fair old puzzle.
Faint heart never won fair horse race but I think an each-way tickle is the pragmatic way to approach this one - and let's hope we find another Denman, Florida Pearl, or similar. Wouldn't that be something?
