Brighton Tips: Irezumi set for another strong run in Sussex

There are five race meetings across the UK and Ireland pencilled in for Tuesday, so there is going to something for all racing fans to look forward to across the day's action.
I am particularly drawn to the six-race card on offer at Brighton, and I have picked out what I consider to be the three best bets from the South Coast. Below you will find my Brighton Tips for Tuesday, August 19.
Brighton Tips - Tuesday, August 19
- 15:15 Brighton - Irezumi @ 4/1
- 15:45 Brighton - Beautiful Dawn @ 7/4
- 16:45 Brighton - H Key Lails @ 7/1

15:15 Brighton - Irezumi @ 4/1
There are five runners declared for this Class 6 handicap over 1m 4f. The one who stands out the most for me is IREZUMI for Jim Boyle's yard.
The five-year-old son of Hawkbill is a course regular at Brighton, boasting a victory on this card a year ago. He has placed in two of his previous three starts here in 2025 and is well-travelled over this distance so he is expected to be a big player in this contest.
Irezumi pulled out hard of the stalls on his last appearance at Lingfield (1m 5f) in June, so he has been fitted with a hood as well as his usual cheekpieces for this entry.
He had enjoyed success there in the outing prior (1m 3 1/2f) so he is set for a strong performance off this mark if conditions are optimal.

15:45 Brighton - Beautiful Dawn @ 7/4
BEAUTIFUL DAWN has had a promising start to her new life as part of James Owen's stable, having made the switch from Derek Shaw's yard on July 28. The four-year-old daughter of Starspangledbanner has posted back-to-back third-place finishes at Lingfield (AW) and most recently Yarmouth - both over 1m.
This form suggests she could be a big player in this Class 6 handicap over 1m 2f. She is untested over this distance so there is that one concern to think about, but if she stays well she will be a strong contender.
The filly has gone 19 starts without a victory but recent showings suggest she may be in line to end her drought on Tuesday. I like her chances, but I'd still recommend going each-way here.

16:45 Brighton - H Key Lails @ 7/1
I round off my selections with the final race on the card, which is a Class 5 handicap over 7f. Six horses have been declared for this contest and each of them have decent claims.
But it is H KEY LAILS of Michael Attwater's yard who catches my eye. The five-year-old son of Washington DC will be looking for an improvement on his fourth of eight finish at Newmarket (July) over 1m on August 1.
This was preceded by back-to-back victories, one coming here over 1m, with the other coming at Chelmsford (AW), contested over today's distance. He has showed promise of late but there is a need for more consistency.
The step down in trip could play into his hands here if he can dominate like he did on his previous outing here, he will be tough to stop.
