Bangor Tips: Skelton to have his say in Wales

There are three cards scheduled across the UK and Ireland on Wednesday, with Jumps cards scheduled at Ayr and Bangor-on-Dee, while there are seven races on the Flat from Dundalk. The card at Bangor-on-Dee is our focus, and National Hunt fans can look forward to eight races at the Welsh track from 12:30 until 16:00.

12:30 - In the Age @ 1/1

Leading UK trainer Dan Skelton has had a busy and very successful few days, and he and his team will look to continue that when they travel to north Wales on Wednesday.

Skelton is still searching for his first British trainers' title, but he ended last week with four winners on Friday, before handling a double at Aintree on Saturday.

He registered three winners at Carlisle on Monday, while Ice In The Veins landed the spoils at 13:00 at Kempton.

With the stable in fine fettle, IN THE AGE is hard to ignore in the opening race at Bangor-on-Dee. A field of five are due to go to post over 2m7f, which will be the furthest trip of In The Age's career.

The five-year-old was last seen at Aintree, finishing fifth in a maiden hurdle after an eight-month break.

Skelton's charge won on debut at Southwell in December 2024, and there's every chance he just needed the run over hurdles on debut to find his feet.

The step up in trip is bound to suit, and the cobwebs should be well and truly blown away for Wednesday's reappearance.

13:00 - Reallyntruthfully @ 10/3

Trainers Kim Bailey and Mat Nicholls are clearly trying to strike while the iron is hot, and REALLYNTRUTHFULLY can make it back-to-back wins for connections.

The six-year-old powered home at 5/2 at Fontwell last month, beating Hecouldbetheone by seven-and-a-half lengths.

The handicapper has handed him a 7lb penalty for that success, but the manner of his win was tough to overlook, and he should be able to defy that weight change to land the spoils.

14:30 - Playful Fox @ 7/4

Skelton has another runner at Bangor-on-Dee in PLAYFUL FOX, and the unraced three-year-old is one to watch out for.

Playful Fox is a half-brother to the consistent Unexpected Party, and he is the son of Hunter's Light.

With Skelton's stable ticking along nicely at the start of the National Hunt season, there's every chance Playful Fox is firing from the outset in what could be a big maiden campaign over timber.
