Ascot racecourse 2

Seven race meetings take place across the UK and Ireland on Saturday, so there are plenty of options out there for you to sink your teeth into.

I like the look of the eight-card race on offer at Ascot and I have picked out my best bets for you to consider across the day's action. Read on to find out my Ascot Tips for Saturday, July 26.

14:20 Ascot - Cajole @ 9/2

This Group 3 Stakes race looks to be an interesting contest on Saturday and there are a few runners worthy of consideration. CAJOLE is the one who has my favour, as she continues to show improvement with each ride.

The three-year-old's maiden success came at Newcastle (AW) in May over 1m and she has fared well over this distance on her past two starts at Ascot and Sandown - finishing second on both occasions.

She drops back to 7f for this trip, which shouldn't be a problem on current form. Her last appearance at Sandown was her first Listed experience and I think she will be capable of more on her return to Ascot.

She represents John and Thady Gosden's yard and considering they saddled the winner in this race last year (Friendly Soul), it's going to be difficult ignore her claims.

15:35 Ascot - Bullet Point @ 10/3

The Betfred handicap over 1m is where I draw my second selection of the day. There is a stacked field of 17 runners declared for this one, but don't fret as Betfred are offering five places instead of four on this one.

It makes some of the runners a lot more appealing for each-way selections, but I'm looking at one who has strong claims and that is BULLET POINT for William Haggas' yard. The four-year-old's last run was an impressive second of 30 over C&D in June, which was preceded by a victory at Newmarket.

That completed a hat-trick going back to last season, and the gelding has been looking in great shape in 2025 so far. It doesn't seem like he has reached his ceiling just yet so he is going to be a strong contender here, particularly with conditions set to be similar to how they were last time out.

Tom Marquand, who has been on board for his past two rides, is booked again for Saturday which adds to his claim.

EXTRA PLACE RACE - Betfred are paying five places instead of four.

16:10 Ascot - Jan Brueghel @ 7/4

It's been nine years since Aidan O'Brien saddled a winner in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Highland Reel), but I think his luck may be about to change on Saturday.

The 55-year-old has two entries in this field of five over 1m 3f in Continuous and JAN BRUEGHEL. The latter has very strong claims based on current form, having won on five of his six starts, including last year's Betfred St Leger at Doncaster.

He had a difficult ride on his reappearance this season at Curragh before responding in style to land the Coronation Cup at Epsom in June. The son of 2001 King George winner Galileo will look to follow in his father's footsteps on Saturday.

Ryan Moore is on board, having ridden Jan Brueghel in all but one of his starts to date, and the jockey was the one who steered Highland Reel to victory in this race in 2016. It very much feels like the stars are aligning here.
