Sunday Greyhound Tips: Smyth’s bright on three at Hove

1pt 15:01 Hove - Burrows Dilemma (T2) @ SP

This afternoon we head to the Nevill Road circuit Hove with three selections on an ultra-competitive all graded card.

At 15:01, BURROWS DILEMMA appeals from T2 in the A4 graded race over the four-bend 500-metre trip.

he Jason Heath-trained railer has only had two runs since moving over from Ireland last summer, so has clearly had issues in recent months.

Back in mid-March, Burrows Dilemma ran in A3 company but finished fourth following trouble at the first bend. Since then, the August 2023 son of Malachi has had a spell off the track lame but returned to action a couple of weeks back with a sprint trial in 16.92 and then recorded 30.25 over this course and distance in a trial last week.

That run suggests all is well, and with further improvement likely he could prove to be above this class granted a clear run.

Blazeaway Kiss (T5) is often there or thereabouts at the finish and rates as the danger. Sly Bluebird (T1) will also be staying on and could be a forecast mixer.

1pt 15:38 Hove - Crossfield Niall (T3) @ SP

At 15:38 look out for former Romford and Oxford-based Greyhound CROSSFIELD NIALL, who runs from T3 for trainer Patrick Browne.

Off the track since late March, the July 2023 son of Crossfield Dusty, returned to action recently with two course and distance trials clocked in 30.39 and 30.27.

Those times would put him bang there this afternoon and, with further improvement likely, he could prove hard to beat, especially if he leads round and kick a couple clear down the back straight.

Lightly-raced Melbury Tyr (T4) rates as a danger. The May 2024 son of Ballyhimikin Jet has only had nine runs, winning three times, he would be a danger to all with a smart exit from the boxes.

Bunny Buster (T1) will be staying on well and could be worth including in forecast bets at the price.

1pt 16:53 Hove - Sharp Surprise (T6) @ SP

The third and final selection from Hove this afternoon is well-drawn wide seed SHARP SURPRISE who lines up from T6 in the A9 graded race at 16:58 over the standard four-bend 500-metre trip at the south coast venue.

Plotted up as the solo wide in the race, Sharp Surprise has a chance to lead round. On the bunny, he’s capable of clocking around the 30.50 mark and a repeat of that should be enough to take this.

For those looking at forecast options, Trapstyle Louis appeals from T1. The strong staying railer returned to action recently following a lengthy spell off the track. Two recent runs would have blown away the cobwebs, and he should be spot on now and ready to get competitive in this type of grade.

Yankee Molly (T2) has form over six bends. She's another who would be a danger to all if she's close off the final bend.
