Thursday Greyhound Tips: Head to Newcastle for bet of the day

17:16 Hove - Swift Jarvis (T1) @ SP

We are a lot better drawn than last week when the draw beat us, we should get a good tow into the race by T2, and we can come through the second lap to pick these up off the last bend.

How I see this 695m open race being run:

T2 led for a long way last week but weakened out of contention late on, should again tow the field along with T4, and can draw us into this race by giving us a good running lane.

T3 is very slow to go, but comes home with a rattle. Any crowding or if the race slows up can come through late on, we really do need to lead this runner in the early stages to gain a good rails position.

T4 won well last week, and if getting first run on T2 tonight, could again win, but I feel could be held up and crowd with T2 as they will both want each other's ground, this runner is nevertheless our main danger.

T5 has been on and off the card recently, and time-wise, is a little off us and T4, does have a good draw today, though, which is the only saving grace, but if we get a clear run, we should be too strong.

So to us in T1, we can follow the early pace in around third/fourth position, we can come through late to win this race going away, very confident choice.

17:44 Newcastle - Sole Mio (T3) @ SP

First start in this country tonight after an unsuccessful run in the Irish derby, changed hands for quite a bit of money, and good things are expected over here; tonight seems an ideal opportunity for us to land a victory.

How I see this open race being run:

T1 recently broke 27 seconds for 450m at Sunderland, which is very quick, not so good here though, only one good run of 28.66, will need to go quicker than that I feel tonight to get involved, and likely to go off a big price, too.

T2 is our main danger on the draw alone, a quick 28.44 run when last here, raced recently at Doncaster, when winning a 483m race, so is in-form; it's crucial we gain first run on this runner.

T4 vacant box, which will help us.

T5 runs wide, so will be edging right on the run up, solid top grade local that always runs well, I feel against us though we have the class to win this race well.

T6 perfect 1/1 here, but time not very special and will struggle against a few of today's runners, will need to improve four to five lengths to figure tonight.

So to us in T3, good draw, we should lead and clear the field at the bend and if we do we should record a quick time and easily land this contest. It's crucial we get in front of T2 early as that runner is in form and could be too strong if gaining first run, either way we are booked for a solid run. Bet of the day for me.
