Friday Greyhound Tips: Rolo Rosie to romp home at Romford

Our very own Greyhounds expert Michael Smyth (@bettingjungle) is back with three top tips to round off the working week. We're off to Romford for today's trio of fancies.

1 pt 19:13 Romford – Ballinabola Ruth (T2) @ SP

Three from the London Road circuit Romford this evening on a competitive card featuring twelve open races. At 19:13 in the Home Straight Showdown Maiden open over the four-bend 400-metre trip, look out for well-drawn railer BALLINABOLA RUTH who lines up from T2 for trainer Martyn Wiley. The February 2024 daughter of Glengar Bale is in flying form with two wins from her last four starts, including two over this course and distance in 24.30 and 24.14. The key this evening is the break and run into the first bend.

It's imperative that Ruth pops out and clears Arthur Portion (T1) at lid rise and grabs the rails, do that and its race on. Elvis Bay (T4) is an interesting runner on his return to four-bend action following three runs over six- bends, he would be a danger to all with a level break. Debutant Capel Fortuna (T3) is worth noting in the market; Significant support would hint that a big run is expected from the November 2024 pup.

1 pt 20:53 Romford – Too Wright (T1) @ SP

The Category One Coronation Cup starts on Friday, June 26, with the £10,000 to the winner final taking place on Friday, July 10. In preparation for that, a trial stakes race takes place this evening at 20:53 over the six-bend 575-metre trip. Plenty are in with chances, with Powerhouse Duke (T4) and Aayamza Legend (T5) likely to prove popular in the market along with Untold Ariary from T6.

At a price one who could go well is Towcester raider TOO WRIGHT from T1. The John Mullins-trained December 2022 daughter of Broadstrand Bono looks well-drawn to hold her pitch into the first bend and if that happens, and she leads round it’ll take a good one to back run her. On the bunny, Too Wright is capable of clocking around the 35.30 mark, a repeat of that should see her take this. Droopys Rhona (T3) will be staying on well and could be worth including in forecast bets at a price.

1 pt 21:33 Romford – Rolo Rosie (T6) @ SP

The third and final selection from Romford this evening is well-drawn wide seed ROLO ROSIE, who runs from T6 in the From Traps To Triumph 3 Or Less Stayers open race over the six-bend 575-metre trip. The Sally Johnson-trained daughter of Coolavanny Hoffa starts and stays. If she pings the lids and leads round, she should go well. The key, as ever, will be avoiding an early bump.

If Rosie leads off the second bend and kicks a couple clear, she can record her fourth victory at Romford. Full Monty (T1) won from off the pace over course and distance last week and would be a danger to all this evening if he turns within striking distance. Ballymac Suntan (T3) has won two of her last four and is another with live claims in a competitive race. Newinn Ginger was a winner from T1 at Hove recently but is drawn out in T5 this evening. The key for supporters of the Seamus Cahill-trained runner will be a ping break.
