Greyhound Tips - Wednesday, April 23

  • T6 (Rolo Snowy) 20:47 Yarmouth @ SP

T2 (Alfie's Lad) 19:56 Yarmouth @ SP

Puppy who recorded a first win on its second race steps up in grade this evening but was visually impressive and recorded a very competitive time. If he repeats this evening IT would be enough to win this race, but we can only improve for racing and again we have been handed a very good draw to work from.

How I see the race being run this evening - T1 rates our main danger and a big one at that, but the key for us is to lead that runner early on, and looking at split times we should just about do that. T1 does have some strong form in the book so can expose any chinks in our armour.

T3 will be moving off as drawn as this one normally comes out of T4/T5 boxes so will edge right at trap rise. Has form over further, so will be staying on off the last and if it turns out to be a crowded race could conceivably come through late.

T4 is again badly drawn and will edge wide this time - another strong runner that will crowd with runners around her once the traps open. T5 showed a tad more early last time and that resulted in a win, but will do well to avoid any early bumping. If doing so, could be prominent at the first bend, and we have the inside line at bend one as drawn.

T6 downgrades this evening from an A5 and will do well to clear T5 on the run up. It could be held up by T3 and T4 moving off, the back form is good but I just can't see the runner getting a clear.

So back to us; we can break level and pace up, and just about clear T1 going into bend. Crucially we can go round under T5 and stretch clear, and as I mentioned a repeat of our time last week and it's our race to lose.

I even see a bit more improvement to come from us the more racing we have as we are only a puppy. Strong chance to add to our wins.

T6 (Rolo Snowy) 20:47 Yarmouth @ SP

Third run tonight for this pup, has fared well both starts so far and noted making good late headway last week when just not able to reel in the leaders. A better start and we can control this race from the front and land our maiden victory.

How I see the race being run - T1 is a slow starting railer, recently won an A8 but all runs in this class have shown the bitch isn't quite up to this standard.

T2 is another slow-to-go type, recently dropped in class but overall the times aren't as quick as us on the outside and running style suggests at some point she will be held up.

T3 been off the card but trialled back ok and to me rates our main danger as before the layoff this runner was very consistent on form and recorded some decent times for the grade. If we don't perform, this runner can pick up the pieces.

T4 is an A9 winner latest and has a two grade uplift to deal with tonight as that win was very impressive on the eye. It had had previously been A7-level in October before the layoff, so the back form is there, but the times don't compare to ours.

T5 is a very slow to go runner, has gone off a double-figure price the last three runs, but did however record one victory in that time.

At A7 it's won two from 15 and has a one from 11 strike-rate drawn Orange, so the stats aren't that good. As for us, we are young and upcoming, getting better each time we go to the traps and looking over tonight's make-up I feel a PB is on the cards and I rate this selection as my bet of the day.
