Wednesday Greyhounds Tips: Hove and Sunderland provide today’s hot dogs

Greyhounds time - and our resident expert Trap2Line has identified a couple of potential stars on Wednesday's cards. Here's how he sees it all panning out this afternoon.

T3 (Cunnigar King) 14:36 Sunderland @ SP

English debut this afternoon after being purchased from Youghal, trialled in twice and both times hitting the 27.50 time which bodes well in this contest.

How I see I the race being run - T1 is more well-known as an A2/A3 runner, did win in a quick time for an A2 grade latest, but to me will be outpaced by this field in this grade today.

T2 mixes sprints and four bend races, has not had much luck recently, but will love the rails pitch and will be moving over on the run up today which may mean coming together with T1 initially.

T4 - downgrade for this runner from Open class but what worries me are her starts. Not electric from the traps but warms up throughout the race and comes home strongly but that has its own hazards in having to come past dogs. I just feel at some point in the race this one will be held up.

T5 will be moving off as drawn into T6's path, is arguably more an A2 runner than an A1 runner, and will struggle and has struggled since being raised to this grade. Not much early, and this could cause crowding at the bend.

T6 is an ex-Newcastle runner, has won her last two races, so is in-form which is a bonus; but averaging out her times they won't be quick enough this afternoon and she could struggle to clear both T4 and T5 early on.

So back to us in T3. We've an ideal opportunity to break well, lots of room to pace up and get around first bend in front, and once we do that we can quickly kick clear. I've noted we aren't the strongest coming home in trials and we will need a few length lead off the last as T4 will be rattling home.

T6 (Swift Chuck) 17:31 Hove @ SP

This runner has got an excellent chance plotted up on the wide outside, has lots going for him in regards to grade/draw/overall times/split times, and can use all the positives for a dominant victory this afternoon.

How I see this A10 race being run - T1 has been on and off the card and previously was better grade than these but that was back in September; and weakened quickly from the front last week. I feel it could be the same again today, will show good pace at the start but that can draw us round in T6 to track this runner and take it up by the third bend.

T2 lost all chance latest with bad trouble, is better judged on his A11 win the time before, is another with early pace but will struggle to clear T1 on his inner and that may pose a problem at the first bend and cause crowding.

T3 to me will be our danger as possesses some better grade form and times and is always well-supported in this A10 grade. Some dogs find their level and this one's level is A10. Always competitive each time he goes to the traps for a contest like this, has all round pace that we will have to be careful of, but I just feel we will get first run.
