Greyhounds Tips - Wednesday, May 14

20:01 Romford - T3 (New Era Baby) @ SP
Irish recruit, mixed fortune since arriving here at Romford, not as yet had a clear run. Once doing so will improve greatly on times and tonight make up lends itself to a clear run from the ping trap T3. This is a big downgrade tonight dropping from open racing into a graded A2 and we can make our class tell when we need to.
How I see the race panning out - T1 came here from Towcester, since arriving form not great and times don't compare to us and T2 so to me will also struggle in this. Will find his level eventually but that won't be tonight. T2 is the main danger to us on form and times and if he does repeat his last run will be bang there with us and it will be a good buckle throughout the race.
T4 is on his first run back since being knocked over so a watching brief advised, trialled back ok but sometimes with dogs around fallers can ease at the bend they fell at as they have a good memory, so I personally can't see T4 getting involved tonight. T5 is climbing the grades recently and was in A6 less than 2 months ago, I feel this is a step too far this evening though.
T6 is 1/1 in the grade, no joy in two A1's and back down to an A2 tonight, could come into this if repeating any of the two 24.22 second trials but we are yet to see those times in completed races, so not for me. So back to us in T3, we’ve got a good draw to work from after moving in from T4 and moving out from T2, which should provide a good launchpad to lead or turn on the shoulder of T2. Hoping our middle pace takes us to the lead and we can win this well. Good chance.

17:43 Sunderland - T6 (Bay City Phoenix) @ SP
Visibly unlucky last time out when dropped to this grade, bad crowding at the first bend put him out the back, BUT we made up a tremendous amount of ground and was going on at the finish and with a clear run would've won easily. That showed me two things, that we have far too much pace for an A7 and also the fact that a win wasn't too far away and the make up of this evening's race suits us perfectly with there being a vacant trap up our inside.
How I see the race being run - T1 very slow to go runner, always runs around the 28.20 mark which for the grade is consistent and if it's a crowded race he will be right there. T2 does have a good draw to lead T1 up, times aren't great and gets a downgrade tonight, will that bring an improvement for her? I'm unsure. T3 again a slow to stride pup who is a bit off these on times and current form but sometimes pups find a chunk of time, hope it's not today.
T4 looks like the leader to me on split times, this will suit us greatly and give us a tow into the race round the first few bends. T4 has been off so will need this and weaken off the last where we can take it up and win this race going away.
