Tuesday Greyhounds Tips: Swindon and Sunderland provide tonight’s firm fancies

It's greyhound guru-time once again, dear reader. They say he'll be wearing a striped jacket later to bond with his selections ... we merely know him as the legend that is Trap2Line.

Tonight's searing insight comes from Swindon, and Sunderland. Two wide boys, both out in the six box, looking to do the business for us this evening. Here's the science bit ...

Today's Greyhound Odds

T6 (Hurry up Brendan) 19:49 Swindon @ SP

Very good open race runner at Perry Barr, out of depth a bit but did run in this year's Derby getting to the second round, and this is much more manageable this evening. Appears to have the best draw of the entire day being the only wide seed, with basically a railer next door.

How I see this race being run - T1 is a very strong four-bend runner, and also plies its trade over six bends so I wouldn't want this one turning in a close second place behind us; which I can't see happening.

T2 is a close railer and could spoil T1's chance by edging into that runner on the run-up. T3 again is another railer so space will be at a premium for the inside runners initially in this.

T4 - same comment applies, and will be looking to turn left out of the traps. I'll be shocked if there isn't lots of crowding on the inner.

T5 is more mid-to-rails and will give us lots of space on the outside, does have consistent form, and can be our danger of getting a clear run.

Now to us; we are plotted up for a solo on the outside, fantastic early pace and this long straight here at Swindon will play to our strengths and we can control this race from trap rise.

T6 (Greenhill Patch) 21:46 Sunderland @ SP

We have found one too good the last four races which is frustrating and again we have been given an excellent opportunity here to lead and make all. The race make-up for this A6 serves us well and being the only wide seed also helps. I see a big run ahead.

How I see the race being run - T1 is a puppy who's been very poor in all races so far, and rightly should be the big outsider in this contest.

T2 is another pup, one good time two runs back in a higher grade, but will still need to improve to get competitive this evening.

T3 sprung an 11/1 shock recently in the grade but overall its form is disappointing and will struggle to get involved. T4 is a consistent sort, better in A7 grade than this A6 but will be there or thereabouts.

T5 is a danger to us after receiving a downgrade, been an odds-on winner in an A5 before a break, and needed last week's run to blow away the cobwebs. It will be crucial that we lead this runner up.

Back to us - we have a dream draw and early pace to clear the entire field by the bend. I expect us to be a couple of lengths up by the bend and we can stretch further clear down the back. We aren't the strongest coming home but should be far enough on for that not to matter.
