Thursday Greyhounds Tips: A triumph of the Spirit while Tess does her best

16:53 Central Perk - T6 (Whiddy Tess) @ SP

We have a change in draw this afternoon being moved out wide after the last few runs drifting very wide off second bend. The hope today is, from a wider pitch, that this runner will cut the bend better and not swing off. Today's field is the weakest we have faced for sometime.

T1 debuted last week and was made favourite but had a very slow start which cost him all chance. Better judged on his trial times which would make him a danger to us today.

T2 is one from four in the grade. First run back since being off since June last week and made favourite. Crowding first bend and halfway through contest ended her chance and to me will again struggle to gain a clear run today.

T3 is consistent in the grade but a record of three wins out of 34 attempts doesn't read well. Has been placed on many occasions and could out-run her price today. 

T4 was a no show in two runs so far for this pup and will need to improve to figure today. Not for me.

T5 is coming back on to the card for the first time since June. Normally a four-or-six bend racer and to me will be tapped for a yard of early pace today. That could set the race up for us.

So to us on the out wide in T6, great draw next to slow starter we can quickly lead up. Hoping we run a better first/second bend from this wider draw as we are losing four or five lengths by running very wide. We do that and we easily land this contest. Confident selection.

20:31 Hove - T1 (Eternal Spirit) @ SP

We step back up in trip this evening after a fruitful spell over 500m winning twice in A2 and top grade. Looking very strong in the finish both races. Prior to those we raced over six and eight bends and tonight we are in against some potential suspect stayers. From a plot draw on the inside we can win this open race impressively. 

T2 is an Oxford raider who had very slow breaks in two 500m races here last couple of weeks. We should have enough early pace to clear this runner tonight. No six-bend form so jury is out as to whether this runner will stay.

T3 is an Romford raider, six-bend runner back at home circuit but form not great. Time wise struggled to break 36 seconds which in the context of tonight's contest will mean this runner will struggle.

T4 is a high grading railer here. Won at odds on latest but looking at videos will be turning left out the traps and looking for the rails. Highly doubt she will clear the inside on the run up and that can spoil numerous runners chances by crowding in the early stages.

T5 has four races and this time has gone off at double figure prices with best result being a third place. Not really bad a clear run in races so far and it could be a different story without trouble. To me this runner rates our main danger this evening.

T6 is a grader here over 500m. No staying form and will be edging across on the run up as is more accustomed to being drawn closer to the middle. Could cause T5 issue on the run up.

So to us on the inside in T1, we have faired well in the draw, in good form and have shown our liking for staying races, everything points to a big run and what we can do is control this race from second bend, I can't see any runner in this field back running us was we to lead out. Very confident choice on form.
