Greyhounds tips with trap2line

Our greyhound expert Trap2Line is on the case once again and has two for our scrutiny this Sunday afternoon - from Towcester and Sheffield respectively. Both will wear the blue vest, so it's fingers crossed that they're Two Darn Hot for the opposition later on.

OK, I'll get my coat ...

Greyhound Betting Tips - Sunday, April 27

  • T2 (Romeo Empire) 16:44 Towcester @ SP
  • T2 (Typhoon Tracy) 17:19 Sheffield @ SP

T2 (Romeo Empire) 16:44 Towcester @ SP

Has trialled back here three times since runs and wins at Nottingham in March, will appreciate the make-up of this race, and is drawn in between two slow starters - crucial to our chances of success this afternoon.

How I see the race going - T1 is a slow-starting railer, been over further, but in all races is slow to reach top gear. T3 is a staying type and won't appreciate this drop back in trip. Again, it's one who is slowly into stride.

T4 is a Hove raider, hasn't been here for a look, and will struggle in my view for that lack of track familiarity, so I'm happy to pass. T5 is a mid-runner, good splits here, but the overall times are disappointing in the context of this race and will struggle to hold us in a clean-run contest.

T6 is an interesting participant from Yarmouth, in really good form from a middle pitch, but will this draw suit? Who knows - on the local evidence he is a true middle runner, would be dangerous if cutting loose early, but personally I think T6 and T5 could have jostling issues as they fight for the same space early doors.

Back to us - and we can claim the rails and be prominent at the first bend, use our middle pace to close, and then go on by the third bend for an impressive victory.

T2 (Typhoon Tracy) 17:19 Sheffield @ SP

Irish runner - steps up in trip from trials this afternoon, was very good over the extended distance at Shelbourne having some wins in the D3 grade over there, and that equates basically to maiden open class which today's race is.

T2 warmed up for this with three spins over the 500m trip, and on watching those trials I see after running through the line strongly that power was maintained way beyond the winning post so this distance should be ideal.

How I see this race going - T3 will edge off as drawn, and this grader mixes it between four bends and six-bend handicaps. Nothing on shown form suggests it will be any danger to us; in fact we will get lots of room on the inside with what T3 could do on the run up.

T4 is an interesting runner, has not been this far but is a good grade over the standard trip The jury is out if he will stay or not.

T5 - again has not been over this far here but did go over this trip earlier in its career at Shelbourne but looking at finishing times and our times it's clear we are over one second quicker.

T6 didn't seem to stay last time over 660m and it could again be a similar story today. So, back to us - we are very strong and have a good draw to work from, we will be staying on when the others have had enough, and I'm very confident of a big run.

Bet of the day for me!
