Sunday Greyhound Tips: Hove is where the heart is

1 pt 15:38 Hove – Classic Piper (T6) @ SP

Three from the Nevill Road circuit Hove this afternoon on a competitive grade card with action over two and four-bend distances.

At 15:38, look out for CLASSIC PIPER who lines up from T6. The Gemma Byford-trained wide seed returns to action today in A8 company following a three-month layoff. Prior to the layoff, Classic Piper was a solid A6 and A7 performer. The well-drawn wide seed starts and stays. If he avoids a bump at the first bend, he can make his move down the back and hit the front by the third bend and power clear.

Debutant Flushing Fiftys (T2) is worth noting in the market. The September 2024 daughter of Good Cody is open to improvement and could prove to be above A8 grade in time.

Former Oxford-based runner Troy Smokin Joe (T3) is another who could go well on Hove debut.

1 pt 16:16 Hove – Yassoo Mell (T5) @ SP

The A11 graded race at 16:16 can go to strong staying wide seed YASSOO MELL who runs from T4. A vacant box on her inside strengthens claims and granted a clear run, the December 2022 daughter of Malachi can cut through the pack at the third bend and hit the front late on to record her fifth victory at the track.

Annie Eva Afta (T1) looks the likely race leader and rates as the main danger. Two recent runs over this four-bend 500-metre trip, with one clocked at 30.98, make her competitive and, with further improvement likely from the youngster, she could go well, especially if she leads round and skips a couple clear.

Roanna Dixie (T6) is on a long losing streak but would be more than capable of taking a race like this on a going day.

1 pt 16:34 Hove - Ardera Sal (T6) @ SP

The third and final selection from Hove this afternoon is ARDERA SAL, who runs from T6 in the D3 graded sprint over the two-bend 285-metre trip. The former Oxford-based performer has mixed it in decent company of late, running in open races at Valley and top-grade sprints at Oxford.

Today, Ardera Sal lines up in D3 company, and she could prove to be well above this company.

As ever, the key to the race will be the break and run into the first bend, trap well and its race on.

Agincourt Mavka (T1) is a consistent D3 performer with a two from ten record in the grade. She rates as the main danger.

Cecil Deville (T5) is worth noting in the market on his first competitive run since December.
