T5 (Mattsbluprincess) 19:38 Yarmouth @ SP
Very low grade affair, but looks chucked in on form and times against these, and has literally everything going for her in this lowly A9 contest.
How I see the race being run - T1 is very slow into stride and overall, the form and times are disappointing. Gone off at big prices recently and again this evening, it's not for me.
T2 - the pup has had two runs, both times very very slowly away. Did have some potential in trials but will need to learn to start better to get competitive in this.
T3 is dropping through the grades and the form has tailed off in recent months. Higher grade previously, does have some solid back form, but that was a while ago.
T4 is another who is slow to go - similar to the runners inside, certainly a negative rather than a positive, and could be caught up in crowding as all the running styles are similar.
T6 has form figures of 665655, is surely making up the numbers tonight, and will be one of the outsiders. So, back to us; we are the only one with any early pace, we can clear these runners at the bend, and shoot clear for an impressive win.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
T1 (Ballymac Lucia) 21:04 Monmore @ SP
We step up to six bends for the first time after lots of strong-running performances over the four-bend trip. This Irish raider used to be based here but has been running back over the Irish Sea and only recently returned to these shores for a competition at Hove, where again we ran on all too late, so this step up in trip is perfect.
How I see tonight's staying race being run - T2 ran middle in trials but could be a thorn in our side in this race as does bring good Irish extended four-bend form to the table.
T3 is another Irish stayer who will edge in as drawn but will come with a wet sail late on. T4 is a local who's won over this trip but is pitched in at the deep end tonight and hasn't the class of the inside runners.
T5 is a danger to us, the likely leader, but I'm unsure if he will stay. T6 has a good draw but again is a local grader, and will struggle to get involved.
So back to us - we can track the pace in T5 and use our middle gears to close, and then prove too strong in the second half of the race. We definitely need to get first run on both T2 and T3.
Good chance.
