Maiden staying open this evening, and we are stepping up in trip for the first time. We were noted making really good late headway at Sheffield over the 500m trip and quickly cleared after the line and stayed on strongly to the trip.

How I see this evening’s race being run: T1 has been over this far and rates our main danger as I know this one will stay, decent four-bend form, but I feel our class in T4 will win us this race.

T2 railer could come together with T1 at trap rise and ruin each other’s chances; no form over this far, so unsure if she will stay. T3 good early pace over four bends and looks the likely leader, I see her dropping away by fourth/fifth bend, so not for me.

T5 has limited six-bend form at the valley, and nothing to write about here, so a no for me. T6 is a lowly grader who tried six bends at Oxford but looked not to stay, A5 here says it all - pass.

So, that brings us back to T4, solid four-bend open race form, has looked strong in the back end of recent races, and can track T3 before pulling clear of these to win well. Bet of the day for me.

20:09 Oxford - Alright Gordy (T5) @ SP

Really strong marathon here where a case can be made for four out of the five runners, but as drawn and race make up really favours us on the outside, and we are a standing dish over this distance, winning three out of three.

How I see the race being run: T1 is devoid of early pace and will be last for the first lap, if the runners come together and the race gets held up, nothing will be finishing stronger than this rival. T2 is drawn on the wrong side of T3 in my opinion, and I see crowding between the two runners, if they don't and T2 gets out this could hinder our race on the outside.

T3 was a track record holder at this distance here last July when he got an easy lead and the track was running fast, but doesn't arrive here in the same form and really wants the rails, and as I've said above, could come together with T2 early on in this.

T4 is here to make up the numbers, will go off the outsider, so no chance. That leaves us, pitched up on the outside being sold wide seed; I see us being more forward than usual tonight and stretch clear and avoid the trouble in behind. Strong selection.
