Monday Greyhounds Tips: Two from Nottingham to light up the evening

Our greyhound expert Trap2Line has given Colwick Park Nottingham his usual forensic level of attention and come up with two likely sorts for Monday night's racing. Without further ado, here's the rationale behind the selections.

Today's Greyhound Odds

20:19 - T6 (Hurry Up Brendan) SP

One I tipped last week only to run into a blot. This evening we start our British-bred journey and we seem to be plotted up out wide, being the sole wide seed in what looks therefore to be a very good make up.

How I see the race going - T1 has good form at Monmore and Sheffield but what worries me is that he has never been here or had a look, and that is a big negative as Nottingham is a very hard track to run first time out, with new lookers/runners having a tendency to run off at the bends.

I can see T1 doing just that this evening which will have a knock-on effect regarding the remaining runners. T2 ran very well at Central Park last week, looking strong at the finish, and recorded a very respectable time. The greyhound trialled the week before here but a woeful split and slow start will cost him, and that will then lead to trouble at the first bend.

T3 is a solid local at Doncaster but trial data suggests this is a step to far, and will be edging across to the rails as drawn this evening. T4 is again a mid-to-rails type, poor split in trial and again slowly into stride could get caught up in the inevitable trouble.

T5 is more known for his exploits over six bends and again one that is slowly away. All this points to us trapping well/pacing up and clearing these at the bends; yes a strong type COULD turn in behind us but I can't see that happening without trouble.

I'm very confident of an all-the-way victory this evening.

21:28 - T1 (Romeo Steel) SP

Missed the break last week but paced up only to be crowded on the second bend and lost momentum. Better drawn this evening for the decider and can break level and rail this field off by the time they reach the first bend.

How I see the race going - T2 runs a more rails-to-middle line on the run-up so will be edging right as the traps open. This will give us room in the inside to pace up.

T3 led our race last week but with things not going our way we were still able to collar that one close home. I can't see T3 landing a blow this evening, and T4 rates the main danger to us in this; very consistent, and always runs his race.

If we fluff our lines then T4 picks the pieces up. T5 did well to win last week at a price, the race suited, and trouble brought him into it. T6 if we could turn the clock back a year would be odds-on for this final but its form has been in decline and has had injuries to contend with. Held every chance last week as favourite but just wasn't quick enough.
