Monday Greyhounds Tips: Miles apart, with one common purpose – to win

Our resident expert Trap2Line gives us two to consider closely on Monday - taking in Sunderland and Yarmouth, around 250 miles apart but hopefully united in providing thrilling racing this afternoon and early evening.

Today's Greyhound Odds

T3 (Scarsdale Pronto) 16:59 Sunderland @ SP

He is running at the peak of his powers currently, being very consistent and landing some A1 races in the process. Times are exceptional in the context of this race and I see a dominant display throughout.

How I see this afternoon's race panning out - T1 an A2 winner recently will struggle in this as drawn, as times aren't really up to this level and will come up short against the majority of today's runners.

No T2, and T4 normally comes out of T5 so will be edging off on the run-up and around the first bend. Did win an A1 recently but the time was nothing special.

T5 pinged the lids latest (something that is uncommon), leading to a very quick A2 time - not sure however to repeat that on todays make-up. T6 is a consistent A1 performer and rates the main danger to us.

We do have a recent victory over T6 though and we can confirm that this afternoon; but if we don't come away, or get held up, T6 is good enough to go on to win. All I see though is a trap to line victory and this rates my best bet of the day.

T4 (Sailorshomeexocet) 19:22 Yarmouth @ SP

Taken to Towcester recently for a trial in preparation for an event there but disappointed and was never entered. Back on home soil we can keep on improving both in times and places in tonight's A4 contest as I feel we have an ideal race make-up to land our second victory at the track, and first since returning from a layoff in February.

I'm hoping that spin at a new venue will have brought us on in both fitness, and trapping.

How I see tonight race going - T1 woefully out of form, has sprung the odd shock in her career but currently running very poorly and not for me. T2 is plummeting down the grades, was A1 in November but down to this A4 level recently; but again not showing much and a similar break like last week will put him on the back foot early in this.

T3 is a young pup coming up through the grades and was made favourite for a similar contest last week - rates the main danger to us, though we should come out on top as drawn.

T5 is another that is dropping back down to this winning level, was in great form a couple of months ago but that form has tailed off recently and will struggle tonight.

T6 is better known as a stayer and the form hasn't quite stacked up these past few weeks, always going off at a big price and crying out for that drop to A5.

I can see us in T4 leading and making all but I can also see us turning on the shoulder of T3 and picking that one up late on, as we both trap and stay so we basically have two bites of the cherry. Either way I'm confident of a big run.
