We come back to the track for the first time competitively since end of March but we do have two recent trials here. One over a shorter two-bend trip and the other over course and distance that should've blown the cobwebs away. I've trawled back through the runner's back-form. When returning from an extended lay-off they have a record of 3 wins from 3 runs, so we always run well fresh. This is a big plus for us tonight along with our draw.
T1 will be the danger and more than likely to go off favourite in this. But their form seems to have taken a nose dive recently. Knocked out of the derby in the first round and a poor show the week after too. Will need to look lively on the run-up and at the trap as they could be in lots of crowding otherwise.
T2 normally a two-bend sprinter, not crying out for this distance. Will want the rails as drawn so will come across T1 at some point on the run-up. T3 warmed up for this with a trial last week. Did look to run mid-to-rails so space will be at a premium on the inside tonight.
T4 is an out-and-out railer but has a terrible draw. Will literally turn left as the boxes open and head straight across to the rails. T6 not been here for a look so is an unknown. Normally new runners swing off at the bends as this track is nothing like his own track at Towcester. I see this runner doing exactly that.
We are the best-drawn runner of the day. We are going to get acres of space to pace up. If we go round handily then we are strong and I feel there is only one winner. I see the Racing Post have us as 3/1 which to me is big. I'm hoping once prices are through we get a price similar to that. This is my bet of the day for the reasons I've highlighted above.

Dog that has been in tremendous form for the last five weeks, winning three and running 2nd in the other race. Has a very good make-up in tonight's contest and can add to his win tally with a trap to line victory.
T1 been in some good quality open races and reverts back to A2 this evening. 100% will be our danger in this but I feel we get first run on this runner. Looking at his initial split times we are quicker to the first bend and therein lies our chance.
T2 hugs the rails so will be coming across T1 as drawn and could crowd with that runner heading into first bend. T3 solid local over both four and six bends. Does stay on strongly. I just can't see her getting an early run which will end up in trouble. An uninterrupted passage could come into the race late on.
T4 rails to mid comments on his form. Does have 2/3 win ratio in A2 contests but with the fact he will be edging left all the way up the run up, we will have acres of space on the outside to clear this field at the bend. So I see us breaking well, avoiding trouble, clearing the field by bend one, kicking on down the back and going on to win well. Solid choice.
