Greyhounds Tips - Wednesday, July 9
*odds correct at time of publication
19:06 Yarmouth - Rathcoole Flight (T2) @ SP
Backed off the boards last week on debut when breaking slowly, and that resulted in crowding at the first bend. In trials, we have a lot more early pace than we showed on debut, and can gain compensation this evening and record our first victory.
How I see this race going: T1 has a record of 4/30 on the grade and hasn't won since the end of April. Has been breaking well but lacks that yard of early pace to the bend, same again tonight, and that can help us lead up on the rails.
T3 recently stepped up from A7 moves more mid to wide on the run up, so will give us lots of space on her inner, overall form is ok, but we have more potential, only having had one race.
T4 will come together with T3 on the run-up, and I see that ruining both their chances with that move. This runner does have a good early pace if getting a clear run, but I can't see that tonight.
T5 is our main danger this evening as she does have excellent back form being in A2 late last year, has been steadily coming down the grades, does have good early pace and was in prime position last week but hampered at the third bend when the field came together, will give us most to think about tonight.
T6 normally slowly into stride, came back on to the card last week after having a month off, prior to that won an A8 well. This race is a lot tougher, though, and I can't see this one getting involved.
So, back to us in T2, we have enough early pace to clear T1, T3 will give us lots of room on the run-up for us to turn handy either leading or following T5 round, we can quickly close and take over by the third bend, and then go on to win well. Confident choice.

20:13 Yarmouth - Harlequin Junior (T4) @ SP
English debut tonight and has trialled three times since arriving from Wexford. Will need to find a bit of time, but does have the splits to get out in front and can run a personal best on his way to victory.
How I see this race being run: T1 was a better grade before the three-month lay-off, but came back with an underwhelming run last week after blasting out of the traps. He weakened on the run-in and easily picked up, does have A5 and higher grade form prior to injury.
T2 doesn’t have very good recent form and has struggled to get involved; last win was in April, so will need to improve to get involved.
T3 similar comments to T1 back on the card after a three-month lay-off, finished last last week and showed no pace, again I can see this runner going off a big price tonight.
T5 rates the main danger to us as does stay on really well, no show early, and will have to come from last to first, but outran price last week and recorded a good runner-up time for the grade last week, if the race crowds could come through late and land this.
T6 totally out of form 12/1 and 11/1 in both races since being back on the card, again slow splits, so will struggle to clear at the bend, and I can't see her getting into this.
So, to us in T4, we have an excellent early pace, which can mean we can lead up early in this. If we clear at the bend, we can stretch on and win this by multiple lengths with T5 staying on into second late. Solid chance.
